Blue Heron Sanctuary & Serene, River-Front Cottage
The cottage is a private space, with a full kitchen, bathroom, laundry and fenced backyard affronting "Goat Island" on the stunning Willamette River, with Maddox and Burnside Parks as neighbors, privacy and tranquility await. Nature trails abound, and prepare to awake serenaded by our resident Bald Eagles, and numerous migratory songbirds, or catch a glimpse of schools of fish passing by and our local sea lions. During nesting season, we are directly across from the largest Blue Heron rookery in the Pacific Northwest, where hundreds of Great Blue Herons return year after year to nest and hatch their young, truly something to experience. The cottage includes binoculars for viewing our friends. Enjoy a selection of vinyl provided on the in-room record player, grab the guitar, learn a few chords (books provided in-house) and take it outside to play around the firepit in the evening. Walking distance to exceptional markets and dining options or cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. Book your stay with us today.

I generally travel solo and try my best to travel light, focusing on experiences over packing and unpacking! I appreciate and respect the opportunity to be welcomed into one’s home and business and treat each visit with its due respect. I am 4x vaccinated against Covid and had my run in with it in Jan, 22 so very well protected!

The cottage is a private and secure location, surrounded by beautiful nature all year round. It features a cozy bedroom with a comfortable bed and a full bathroom, complete with high-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which are always clearly marked inside the medicine cabinet.
For those chilly fall, winter, and early spring nights, the cottage also has an electric fireplace, and to keep within the music theme, it has a range of records and a record player, as well as an acoustic guitar for guests to use. There is even an assortment of music books!
The kitchen comes fully stocked with extra virgin olive oil, Maldon salt, and a selection of organic herbs, as well as a variety of coffee-making options for your convenience. Additionally, there is a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer, and eco-friendly laundry sheets are provided for your use.
