The Puffin, a 1906 Dutch Colonial Revival home, beckons you to relax on the inviting wraparound verandah as you indulge yourself in the sights and sound of our charming seaside home. We are located in the heart of Cape May's historic district, just 1/2 block to the beautiful Cape May beach, recently rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the US by the Travel Channel. The Puffin is conveniently located just steps away from a variety of dining and shopping experiences both along Beach Avenue and the Washington Street Mall.
Our lower level suite, The Terrace, offers 2 bedrooms and a recently updated kitchen/living area as well as a full updated bathroom. Although you may be tempted to step back in time when you enter Cape May, be assured that we provide all of the modern conveniences to make you stay enjoyable. Our kitchen is equipped with granite counters, dishwasher, oven, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. Central air conditioning, a 50" flat screen TV in the living area, a 28" flat screen TV in the main bedroom, and a two step down rear courtyard private entrance make it an ideal suite for families and seniors. A sleeper sofa in the living room allows accommodations for 6 guests.
We are open year round, so visit often. Experience a relaxing summer vacation, Victorian Week in October, a festive Victorian Christmas celebration in December. or any of the numerous other activities and special events throughout the year. Remember...location is key. And there is no better location in Cape May than 32 Jackson Street!

Great location! Plenty of alley space to unload our vehicle and the parking pass with the directions was a great addition as well. The house was very neat and clean and everything worked as expected. It’s located in such a great location, you can walk to everything and we only needed our car to go to the zoo. The host was very responsive and gave me any and all info that I requested. Highly recommend this home.

Perfect long weekend getaway

The Puffin -Terrace was a great little getaway spot, the two bedroom apartment was clean, cute and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The front porch was a great spot to sip champagne and watch the comings and goings on Historic Jackson Street. I'll be back!

Nice place, perfect location!

We loved it here for our short stay in Cape May! It was a nice place, clean and easy to access on the ground level. And it was in a perfect location close to the beach and shops and restaurants. We will be looking to stay again in the future.

Great for us with baby

The communal washer/dryer was right outside our door which was great because we had loads of laundry with the baby. The location can't be beat. The apartment was cozy and a perfect amount of space for us.

Great location & front porch! Close to the beach & center of town. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning drinking our coffee & reading or chatting at night. Clean space & decorated nicely. We did not enjoy hearing foot steps, noises & conversation above our head. Was not relaxing inside the unit. The unit is in the basement & feels like a dungeon. The bedrooms do have windows with more light but also have poor window coverings so the bright security light from the neighbors driveway shines in all night. Wasn’t happy with supplying our own bed sheets & towels. It’s only a NJ beach town thing. No other place in the country or in Europe does this. Thankfully we drove so we could pack all the extras that were needed. Every VRBO that we have stayed in has supplied sheets, linens, shampoo, conditioner, soap & nice extras for a welcoming & luxurious feel. We even had a host gift us fresh eggs, scone mix & wine. This place is very basic.

Beth, I am at a loss of how to respond to you. I am sorry you did not have a positive experience. If you refer to our 14 years of reviews, you will see that just about all of them disagree with you. The day after you made your reservation, we spoke on the phone about the things that later seemed to upset you, such as: bringing your own linens; rear entry lower-level apartment, etc. These topics are also covered in our VRBO description. It is puzzling why you would decide to keep the reservation, knowing this, and then complain afterwards? To comment about how clean and nicely decorated the apartment is and then refer to it as a “dungeon” makes no sense at all. You mention “luxury”, however, you will not get luxury for the nightly rate you paid for 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and living space at a beach condo in the heart of Cape May. You may want to compare the cost for 4 adults in one of the “Luxury” establishments in town. Our typical guests are looking for a clean, comfortable, nicely decorated apartment with a beautiful porch in a perfect location where they can change, shower, sleep and be out and about enjoying all of the wonderful things Cape May has to offer. It is obvious we are not the right fit for you.

Very nice stay, excellent location

We had a very nice stay at the Puffin! It is perfectly located within walking distance to everything desirable in Cape May. The Puffin was clean, easily accessible, and came with a parking space. The space was tight, but made it much nicer to not have to worry about walking a long distance for parking. Will stay again!

Beautiful property!

We’ve stayed at this property in the past and will do so in the future. It’s rooms at comfortable and clean. Cook in or eat out at the many fine restaurants an easy walk away. Also an easy walk to the beach and shopping.

Anniversary weekend in Cape May

Subsequently, we brought our now-grown children here for many vacations and have done it all over the years: bike rentals, surrey rides, mini golf, family reunions, deep sea fishing, strolling through town enjoying the architecture, playing at the children's arcade, and of course relaxing on the beautiful beach. It is truly a wonderful destination with something for everyone.
