About this property
Romantic Cottage for Two in the Heart of the White Mountains
A private, newly renovated cottage surrounded by trees, mountain stream, fields, and spectacular view of the Presidentials. Abundant wildlife out the windows. Not uncommon to have a moose or bear walk by. You'll enjoy comfortable, restful nights in the serene intimate bedroom on quality bedding, including down and cotton. The adjoining bath provides a shower, fluffy towels, and a hair dryer. Unique architectural details throughout were added to create a cozy environment. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare simple or elegant meals with adjoining dining and spacious living areas. A collection of local guidebooks, maps and reading materials are provided. We've also compiled a list of our favorite things to do in the area, including hikes, dining, and day trips. Many windows let in natural light, sounds, and clean mountain air. There is a small adjoining deck to sit and have your morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The adjoining field is a great place for evening stargazing, a campfire, or a picnic, with spectacular view of Mts. Madison & Adams.. Fall foliage is breathtaking, and in winter, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails start right out the front door. Just a 5 minute drive to the Crescent Ridge Glades. We will be happy to transport you to the trailhead when parking lot is full. Five major downhill ski areas are within an hour's drive. Many amenities within 5 - 60 minute drive. Day trips can include a shopping trip to North Conway, a scenic trip up the Mount Washington Auto Road, canoeing on the beautiful Androscoggin River, adventurous hikes up Mount Madison or Mount Adams, or leisurely hikes on the hundreds of miles of trails in the White Mountain National Forest or the Randolph area maintained by the Randolph Mountain Club. Clear, cool mountain pools nearby for swimming.
We accept pets, (dogs, not cats) after guests review our pet policy and approve.
We do not have parking space to accommodate ATV nor snowmobile trailers. There is a rental place in Gorham for those type of things and a parking lot at Lowes (pay) where trailers can be parked. Snowmobile trails can be accessed from there but not ATV's.

This is the perfect place if you’re looking to disconnect and be cozy. We absolutely loved it here and will be back! The views are incredible waking up to the mountain covered in snow was magical. Hiking trails are literally in the backyard. Larry and his wife were so kind and Larry has the most fascinating history of the town. Highly recommend this place.
Very cozy in the snow. Cabin was perfect. Everything worked great and we stayed nice and warm. Larry gave us lots of info about the area. It's not too far to get to anything you might need, but still secluded and private.
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. The view of Mt Madison and Adams covered with snow against a beautiful blue sky was spectacular. We are history buffs and unbeknownst to us Larry knows so much about the history of Randolph. We really had a great time chatting with him. The highlight of our stay was being able to snowshoe right from the cottage door. There is also a brew pub close by that has great food and beer. We will be back! Thanks so much!
Beautiful cottage! We really enjoyed our stay, it was a perfect weekend despite the fairly grey weather! We had everything we needed, Larry is a wonderful host (thanks again for the apples!), and the area is beautiful! The cottage comes with a topographical map with all the trails in the area, which made it very easy to find a nice hike right from our doorstep.
Beautiful spot. The cottage location exceeded my expectations and the hiking just steps from it was convenient and plentiful. Everything you could need for peaceful retreat. Hosts are so knowledgeable and gracious and take immense pride in their town and property.
Larry and Yvonne was wonderful hosts. This was our second time staying, but a different time of year. The area has so much to do and some great restaurants.
The sweetest cottage. Very beautiful area. Host incredibly welcoming and friendly. Perfect week for us to enjoy the beauty of the White Mountains. The cottage was very clean with fresh fliwers and delicious cookies. Definitely coming back
The little cottage is for everyone who loves nature

I don’t usually respond to reviews but our recent guest recognized an important feature of our property that that seldom gets mentioned. Our backyard has Mount Madison and Adams as a backdrop. While these guests were staying there was a total lunar eclipse at 2:36 in the morning. Our field of several acres provides an excellent place to escape into the cosmos just about any time the sky is clear. The snow is in retreat and as it gives way, the ground reveals itself. A quick walk around and moose droppings are evident, bird nests emerge from the cloak of leafage and squirrel's are competing for sunflower seeds with a multitude of birds. In a few weeks we’ll begin enjoying spring foliage. For all the hype about the splendor of fall foliage, hardly anyone touts the joys of spring plumage. In terms of best, the best day of the year is in Spring. The best season, Summer. The best month, mid September to mid October. The best week, sometime in winter. Usually in February. That is, if you like snow! All times of year yield waterfalls and vistas!
Everything was clean and perfectly in working order. House was nice and private. Great views of Mt. Adams and Madison. Free to roam the entire property which was beautiful. Larry was extremely helpful and friendly and knew the area very well so he gave us a lot of suggestions/ guidance on what to do. We look forward to another visit.
Never said beautiful so much in 1 weekend. The quaint house my girl and I stayed in was so romantic and clean! The property and owners were both exceptional. We will stay here again if available and would recommend you give it a try you won’t be disappointed!Oh ya the owner left some fantastic cookies for our welcome, I don’t know if they do that for everyone but hopefully with a little luck you can enjoy this same experience! Life changing in my book!
House was better than advertised. Beautiful location , just what we always thought a New England cabin would be. See photo off deck. Larry was a pleasure to talk to and he knows the area and interesting stuff. Mt. Washington and White Mountain great trips to go along with the Presidential Mountains from the house. 1st time in New England and will be back.
The cabin was amazing. Very picturesque and in a great location. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely go back to stay again but closer to the summer next time.
Such a beautiful cottage and peaceful location! We enjoyed relaxing on the back deck and being immersed in nature. Many trails just a walk from the cottage and rhe rail trail is minutes away. The owners were very welcoming, readily available and more than happy to share their knowledge of the area. The kitchen is well equiped, super comfy bed and linens provided.Thank you Larry & Yvonne for sharing your special place with us. You have created such a peaceful, welcoming space. We will be back! We can't get there fast enough!Kim & Curt
Although our time here was short, it was a nice area to be away from city life. The property offered amazingly mountain views and was very warm and cozy when it snowed.
We love coming to this cabin in the woods!! The hosts are friendly, helpful and make you feel right at home. We keep coming back because of the peacefulness, and comfort. Amenities are nearby with hiking and activities. Totally recommend!!
Hosts were wonderful and full of information for our stay. My husband and I found places nearby to fish, hike, kayak and just explore then came back to relax for evening in this secluded cottage.
My wife and I just returned from an eight night stay at Larry and Yvonne’s beautiful property. The cottage itself was cozy, very comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Larry and Yvonne were generous, and well informed hosts. What they have created amounts to a private resort for both themselves, and their guests, in the heart of a majestic mountain landscape. This was easily one of the nicest home away from home vacations we have ever had. Thank you, Larry and Yvonne for sharing home and your knowledge of the area with us.We will be back!Peter & Alice

About the host
Hosted by Larry Jenkins
We have spent the past 36 years creating a self sustained lifestyle. Everything is owner designed and built, including the buildings, landscaping and gardens. We are both retired Larry, a former woodworker, and Yvonne a librarian. We enjoy our beautiful mountain setting and are excited to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was built and used as an apartment while we were constructing our larger home on the same property, which was chosen because of the spectacular views of the Northern Presidentials. Our dream of converting it into a vacation rental is now complete.
What makes this property unique
The property allows you to get away and yet be close enough to everything you need. The small town setting is friendly, welcoming, and includes many seasonal acitivities without the congestion of typical tourist destinations.
