Welcome to Glass Forest, a brand new (Summer 2023) home designed and built to be a comfortable place for folks to enjoy spending time together while enjoying the outdoors. Folks who visit Pagosa Springs want to spend their time outside which you can do here, even when you get home. The covered 32'X10' deck faces west so you get to enjoy breakfast or your morning coffee al fresco and when you get home you can enjoy the amazing sunsets. WINTER TRAVELERS - See important note below!
Glass Forest is located less than three miles from Hwy 160 and restaurants, grocery stores and Higher Grounds Coffee Shop. Another couple of mile drive will get you to downtown Pagosa Springs, the hot springs and more restaurants and shops. Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles from the house.
Inside you’ll be treated to more of the beautiful view surrounded by soaring ceilings, modern farmhouse décor and furnishings specifically selected to make vacationers feel comfortable and at home. The living room, dining room and kitchen share an open space with over twenty-two feet of glass doors and windows so you can enjoy nature even indoors. There’s a full bath off the living area. The house has central heat and even air conditioning for the occasional warm summer day. Every bedroom has a view. There are new memory foam mattresses and stylish furnishings in all four of the bedrooms. The primary bedroom and one other bedroom are downstairs. The primary bedroom has a king size bed, a huge walk-in closet and a bathroom to die for with a gorgeous walk-in shower and a double vanity. The other downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a view of the forest and mountains beyond as well.
Upstairs you’ll find a bedroom with a queen size bed and a large bunkroom with two sets of twin bunkbeds, a 65" TV and a comfy sectional. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with a double vanity and separate tub and toilet areas so lots of people can get ready in a hurry.
You’ll have full access to the garage which has plenty of room for two good-sized vehicles and a mud area as well. There’s also enough space in the driveway to park a couple more cars. Note there’s no parking on the street (snowplows may need access).
In case you really want to watch the big game or a movie the house has two 65” TVs (living room and bunk room) and one 55” TV in the primary bedroom. YouTube TV is provided and you can of course login to your own subscription services to stream whatever you’d like. There’s of course Wifi throughout the house.
Pagosa Springs is an amazing gem of a place close to skiing/snowboarding, hiking, lakes, rivers and of course the famous springs themselves. Wolf Creek Ski Area is known for having the most average snowfall per year in all of Colorado (430 inches per year average!). Most years Wolf Creek is in operation from sometime in October to late March or early April. Pagosa Springs has a small town feel to it but still has many excellent restaurants, some excellent breweries and many of the amenities one expects in a much larger town. The springs, with 24 pools of varying sizes and temperatures (84-114 degrees), is open year-round and a great place to relax in between days on the slopes. The hiking in the Weminuche and South San Juan Designated Wilderness Areas is truly amazing and during the winter there are a number of groomed trails in the Pagosa Springs area for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. There’s kayaking, tubing, rafting and oh yes – the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad shouldn’t be missed.

A few days before arriving Mike will send you a code to get in to the house.
WINTER TRAVELERS - VERY IMPORTANT NOTE! The driveway at this house is asphalt, but fairly steep. There is a parking pad at street level large enough for up to two two-wheel-drive vehicles. All other vehicles MUST HAVE four wheel drive to get in and out of the driveway when there's any amount of snow. There is no street parking so that snowplows can get through so you must park on the property. Please do not book this house for a winter trip if you have more than two two-wheel-drive vehicles! Two-wheel-drive vehicles are fine on the driveway when there's no snow.
I have a snow removal crew that takes care of the driveway and the parking pad. They'll go first thing in the morning (8:00ish) if there's any significant amount of snow (1" - 2" or more) but if it snows during the day or overnight snow can accumulate.
THE YARD is a work in progress. To speed up growth we used straw mats to cover grass seed. It helped a lot BUT the mats are a bit of a tripping hazard for a few months. Please stay off the yard for now or walk very carefully - should be good to go spring of 2024. Thanks!
