- Recycling at The Old Forge Holiday Cottage Our local authority, Hambleton District Council, has a very strict recycling policy whereby if recycling is not properly sorted into the correct containers, it will not be collected. Please observe the following information and place your refuse and recycling into the containers as follows: Blue Lidded Bin – Cans, Plastic, Cartons, Cardboard and Paper Blue Box – Mixed Glass, Bottles and Jars Black Lidded Bin – General Household Waste The green bin is for Compostable Garden Waste only, and is not for guest’s use. Regrettably, a £50 charge will be made for any re-sorting of waste and recycling by our cleaning staff. More information on recycling can be found in our Visitor’s Book.
