Cinnamon Shore — the good and the could be better.

I've visited some wonderful family destinations, but I honestly can't think of one that feels quite as family-friendly as this place.The Kids! So many kids! Playing football and soccer and dance parties on the Great Lawn, riding bikes, cruising around in golf carts, making friends and just being kids. It has that nostalgic, old-fashioned 80’s summer vacation feel. Think Kennedy compound meets Texas beach town, with golf carts instead of sailboats.And here's what really impressed me after 3 visits, I can't say I encountered a single rude or badly behaved child. Sure, there were a couple of disagreements on the football field, but they were very minor, quickly resolved, and everyone moved on. The older kids naturally established the rules, and for the most part, everyone was fair and reasonable. It was so refreshing!Fall Fest was adorable! 🍂🎃We happened to be there during Fall Fest, complete with a petting zoo, face painting, outdoor movies, a mini kids' rave with a DJ, pumpkin Pilates the following morning, great fall photo setups and lots activities. So much to do without ever leaving the property!A Few Things I Learned:Don't rule out staying near the Great Lawn and the stage at Terry’s Place. I worried about noise, but activities wrapped up around 9:30, and it wasn't loud or disruptive at all.If you're having trouble getting restaurant reservations online, try walking in and asking. We had better luck in person!Many of the restaurants and businesses operate independently of Cinnamon Shore, which is worth remembering when dealing with reservations or service issues.Texting guest services was incredibly convenient. Questions were answered without having to call or track someone down.Golf cart parking was plentiful, and our accommodations had assigned parking. Even with units above and around

"Kennedy compound meets Texas beach town with golf carts instead of sailboats" might be the most perfect description of Cinnamon Shore we have ever read, and we may just have to borrow that! We love that after three visits you still find something new to celebrate from the joy of watching kids just be kids on the Great Lawn, to the magic of Fall Fest with the petting zoo, pumpkin Pilates, and the mini rave. And your tips for future guests are so thoughtful and genuinely helpful the walk-in restaurant suggestion and the note about texting guest services are exactly the kind of insider knowledge that makes a stay even better. Reviewer Comments: We’ve loved cinnamon shore for multiple summers in a row now but it seems consistent that when a problem arises (running out of s’mores at the community s’more night by 7:15 when it was supposed to go 7-8, not having our beach fire set up for the correct time, etc) the staff isn’t equipped to fix the problems. We’ve faced similar issues each summer. The fitness center stair master was broken (and was last year) and the self-propelled treadmills were not awesome. Wish there were different treadmills. As far as our house is concerned, it wasn’t as equipped with the amenities I think a rental kitchen should have. We were left wanting or needing to buy lots of things. Positives : the c bar cafe was phenomenal in service and kindness of the staff (JJ and Darius were awesome!). And food was delicious! The rhythm of port an and cinnamon shore is so relaxing.

Pretty house but lots of things not working.

Before we got there, the staff called to tell us a piece was broken off the stove but it worked. That was the start of what didn’t work. The ice maker and washing machine didn’t work, repair man came and couldn’t fix either one. There were 0 beach towels after they said they had some on site. The floor lamp in living room was broken as was one in the master bedroom. Also, the internet didn’t work for two days and the box had to be completely replaced. Also, the office gave me the wrong key and we unloaded our whole car to find out we couldn’t get in. I had to go back across property to change it for the correct key while my family waited in the heat.

The bedding and couch were relaxing. Only issues we had was that the washing machine was very fragile. We were not able to wash a full load of laundry without the machine stopping. We stayed upstairs with the kids, youngest was one, so we would love if there were a built in or roll up baby gate at the top and bottom of stairs. Could use better quality TP. I was surprised with the trash and amount of seaweed at the beach, I would expect Cinnamon Shores to clean up their beach area on a daily basis. It was also hard to figure out TV and remotes, one remote didn’t have batteries in it.

Unpleasant surprise

The check-in process went smooth, the ladies at the reception were helpful and courteous. This development (Cinnamon Shore) is beautiful....pools, restaurants, beache, etc. The property was clean and rooms/baths as described. Two big CONS the elevator wasn't working (it hasn't been for the last 10+ days)....this isn't convenient being located on the 3rd floor when bringing up and down twice a day coolers, beach toys, etc One night the bathroom located on the top floor had a water leak.....everything upstairs flooded and it even dripped onto the first floor. The maintenance crew took care immediately......but still very inconvenient!
