We stayed in the Carriage house for 9 days, there to escape hometown heat and to explore the area. The place was pretty, comfortable and worked well for a home base for exploring the region. We enjoyed the shared lawn and patio space where we met others staying on the property who shared travel pointers and adventures. The cooler weather and some welcome rain made for a relaxing stay. Thank you!
Building has quite a bit of character and is pleasantly set back from the street - nice and quiet. Deer were in the yard throughout our stay and we took care not to spook or bother them. Interesting way to have your morning coffee.Short drive to Whittington Center if that's why you're in town.
The carriage house was quaint and comfortable, the perfect respite from my daily routine. The check in process was easy, the property was as described, and the location was convenient. I would definitely stay here again!
This was a delightful modern spot perfect for two. A super comfortable bed, hot shower and basic kitchenware was just what we needed for our two night stay. Thank you, Nathan!

Thank you, Helen! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay and found everything comfortable. Your kind words inspire us to keep improving. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another delightful visit!
We love staying in the Amazing Historic 1800s Carriage House! It is the perfect home away from home and we always try to get it when we know our July travel dates. Nathan, the host, and Karen, the housekeeper and very accommodating and made sure every need was met. Bonus: The bed is so comfortable.
This property is a great location if you’re going to go hiking in Sugaright Canyon or Capulin volcano. The Oasis and Pappas’ Sweet Shop had some of the best green and red chili I’ve ever had! The dinosaur tracks at Clayton Lake were also impressive!
Out host was present when we arrived to greet us. He made sure we could get in and everything was to our satisfaction. We had a little problem with the WiFi, but he was very responsive and got us straightened out quickly. We were very comfortable in the unit with plenty of space to relax.

Thanks so much Lisa! We appreciate you staying with us! Safe travels.
The Carriage House was perfect for our stay in Raton. It was clean and well supplied with everything we needed to cook our meals and relax after being out hiking and photographing. The neighborhood was quiet which was important since we were out making night sky images so needed to sleep in the morning. Communication with Nathan was always timely and pleasant. We look forward to staying here again next time we are in Raton.

Lawrence was a great guest! great communication and friendly to chat with! Happy to host again anytime!
We LOVED the house, the host, everything was as expected, and we really appreciated how comfortable everything was. While it was cold, the house is old and it was expected. I will definitely stay again when I come back to Raton to visit my family. Five stars!
Kitchen needs one additional medium deep pot for heating liquid/soups.

They did a lovely job restoring the property, very nice especially upstairs. Small suggestions: Shower and bathtub upstairs doesn't drain properly, eventually goes down. The toaster doesn't work, you have to hold down the handle, screen door could use repair. Otherwise a nice experience, loved sitting on the lawn.
Nice, clean,1900's building with updates as required for comfort. Safe neighborhood, 3 to 5 deer in the yard several times a day. A great place to stay, barbecue pit and grill in the imaculate yard. Parking in lot at yard gate, easy access to unloadon arrival and load for departure. We had a small issue and the housekeeper was there in less than 10 min. Nathan, the owner,, solved the problem and scheduled a repair tp insure that no other renters will have the issue. Nathan is a very good busi nessman. We will be back.
