Hope Villa is hidden away at the top of the hill in Oyster Pond on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. Architect designed just for the owner and his wife, this neat little villa and its lush gardens is the perfect vacation getaway for any couple and is ideal for a honeymoon or a holiday with a special friend. The views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding islands are spectacular. Gentle breezes off the ocean keep you cool while sunning yourself at the lovely pool. You also are only a short distance from some of the best beaches on the east end of the island. Hope cottage is located near the French border just a few minutes from 4 good restaurants and is only 25 minutes to Grand Case, 20 Minutes to Orient Bay, each being the gastronomic center of the French side and home to some fine supermarkets. You are also only 15 minutes to Philipsburg, the Dutch side capital, with all the casinos, restaurants and great shopping that is available for that perfect vacation.

Our check-in was very easy. We were met at the car rental and escorted to our villa. The villa is at the top of a hill and has great views but driving up the steep narrow roads takes getting comfortable with. Rent a good car that can get up the hills.The kitchen has just about anything you need and even had a cooler for the beach. The air conditioning is only in the bedroom but with all the doors open there is enough of a breeze to make things comfortable.

Beautiful View of the Bay

The place was amazing. It is located at the very top of a steep hill. It takes a few minutes to drive up the road from the gate, so be prepared for a fun ride up and down the hills. This is typical for an island property with beautiful views, so take it for what it is. We definitely enjoyed the seclusion of the location. There are neighbors but none close enough to interfere with taking a plunge in the pool or walking without a bathing suit. It has two very beautifully remodeled bathrooms. The rooms are very large and the balcony across the entire back with the pool are just fabulous. There is a propane grill where we cooked fresh fish and seafood. The kitchen is fully stocked. Great place to stay for a couple.
