Cedar Heart Cabin is a modern log cabin located along the shores of the Miramichi River. The Miramichi River is world famous for its salmon fishing - both spring and summer. The name 'Miramichi' means 'quiet running river' and it is a perfect place for water activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing and kayaking. The cabin has two floors, the main floor and a walk in basement. There are three bedrooms (all private) - each with a queen bed. There is a full bathroom upstairs with stand in shower, washer & dryer and a full bathroom (tub/shower) downstairs. All bedding, towels and linens are provided for you. The kitchen has fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffee makers, kettle, microwave, electric can opener, all dishes, pots, & silverware you would require. There are mini splits upstairs and down to provide both heat and air conditioning. There is a wood burning stove in the living room area, four rocker recliners and a small sofa. From the kitchen and living room area, you have a beautiful view of the Miramichi River and can walk out onto a roomy porch on which are rockers, bistro table and chairs and a barbeque. Just a few feet from the front of the cabin is a screenhouse equipped with patio furniture. A brook runs alongside the screenhouse and provides a nice background sound for relaxing. During the summer months (July 1 to Thanksgiving) there is a small floating dock anchored out from the shore on which you can sit and enjoy the river. This is also a good area for swimming. We have available on site a canoe which you may use for no extra charge (life jackets and paddles also provided) We can provide shuttle service upriver if you would like (small fee for the shuttle service). Love the location, had a bit of problem finding it but the view is amazing Plenty of room for 6 person. Host very helpful to us with a small problem we experience.
Well equipped property on the beautiful Miramichi River. We enjoyed swimming, tubing, campfires and canoeing. Lots of peaceful areas to enjoy quiet time with a book as well. We'll be back!
We loved our stay as did our senior dog. The cabin was spacious and beautifully appointed, and situated right on the river! We loved watching the Canada Geese with their babies and came home refreshed and planning to go again next year!
This is the second time we've stayed at this cabin, and it was just as lovely as the first. We love the proximity to town while feeling still being completely surrounded by nature. Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful little cottage by the water, with everything you need to forget about everyday worries. All necessary amenities including a lovely log fireplace. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with tips for day trips.
We loved our stay at Cedar Heart cabin. From the moment we entered the cabin we noticed small details that completed this perfect getaway.
The property is so comfortable and had everything that we needed.
The area has a lot to offer. We hiked, canoed, and visited the towns nearby.
Lovely vacation!!
Contorted, clean, homey, stocked full of everyday things you always forget to bring along! Hosts are so sweet and accommodating! Well definitely be back.
This property provided a perfect start to our maritime adventure. The host welcomed us personally and showed us around. We took advantage of the warm weather to enjoy the screened in gazebo and canoe. Highly recommended.
This place his what I've been dreaming of to own one day. Perfect land on the water with a cute and comfy cottage.
We have nothing bad to say about this place, from the reception by the owners to our check out.
We will go back.
Lovely cottage .I brought napkins, towels . tea, coffee, sugar ....... it was not necessary but I always pack :"Just in case"!!!!....I would suggest the addition of a non slippery mat for the bathtub upstairs , an extra precaution to make it more secure for older guests .

So glad you found the cabin well equipped. I appreciated your suggestion for the upstairs bathroom and I have already followed through on it and have placed a non slip bath mat in front of the shower. Hope to see you at Cedar Heart again sometime.
If you want a place to rest and relax in quiet and beautiful surroundings this is the place. The beauty of the river, the sounds of the creek running beside the outdoor gazebo provide a relaxing space to unwind. The cabin has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The hosts Darlene and John were most accommodating. Close to a great park in Blackville, and amenities.
My husband and I stayed at Cedar Heart for a week in July. The property is beautiful. The river is literally at your door step. We went kayaking everyday and the water is so calm itās like glass. The cottage is exceptionally clean and everything you would need is provided. The screen house is my favourite place to sit and watch the river and listen to the peacefulness. We liked it so much Iām booking next year for a week and inviting family. Thank you Darlene and John for sharing Cedar Heartā¤ļø

About the host

I am retired and my husband is a pastor and manager of a radio station. We love to travel and meet people. We live in the village of Blackville about 3 kms from the cabin's location. We built and decorated the cabin ourselves. When you visit, you will see the quality workmanship and attention to details in the cabin's decor. We have lived in New Brunswick our entire lives so we know the area well and can advise you on anything you will need to know. We have traveled extensively and are aware of the traveler's needs.
Why they chose this property
This property gave us a get away close to home and we continue to enjoy it ourselves in this way. It gives us access to the river for kayaking and canoeing among other water activities all of which we enjoy ourselves.
