The cabin was great for a comfort camping.. the lake was nice. The cabin was spacious and easy for my elderly mom. If planing on staying again would bring mattress toppers, beds were extra firm and not comfortable.
We had a great experience. It was very clean, peaceful, nicely laid out, and well done. It was roomy inside and the full-length creek-side porch was wonderful. We had our family come to see us there and it was also kid friendly and accommodating. The host was prompt in giving needed information. Hope to go back soon.
Stayed around Christmas to visit family in the Shoals and it was a great central location large enough for everyone to gather. There was even a Christmas tree set up in the living room that was a thoughtful homey touch. Communication with the host was great and access was seamless. The bedrooms are large. Furnishings were very basic but functional. House was clean; sofa upholstery could have used a refresh in high touch areas. Best part was the porch that overlooked the river, Even though it was chilly I spent lots of time on the swing and chairs enjoying fresh air and birdsong and the sound of the water. Some of the neighboring properties are kind of rough looking but this property is well kept. No issues with noise or neighbors, with the exception of a brush pile being burned on the property across the street one evening that didn't look as though it was being monitored which made me nervous. My only disappointment was that the dishes provided in the kitchen were the plastic Walmart variety, like you'd get a college student, and not even a complete set of those. I've never stayed at a VRBO that didn't have regular dinnerware so I was surprised by that. We opted to get disposable dishes when family gathered for a meal since what was provided wasn't adequate. Overall a great location on the river at a reasonable price.
My husband and I, along with our 2 adult daughters, spouses and children, stayed over Christmas week. Host was very easy to communicate with. She was so kind to have a Christmas tree completely set up and ready for us.The back porch is wonderful! Loved sitting out there with coffee, a good book and the creek. There was plenty of room for our whole family. The neighborhood was very quiet! Definitely recommended for spending time with family and relaxing! Oh, and the shower in the master bath is AMAZING!
This was the perfect place to stay for a peaceful trip and fishing, which is why we went. Love the area and being able to sit in the chairs off the water and fish, it was just an enjoyable time!
This amazing home is at the end of a quiet street. Its backyard backs up to a creek off of Wilson Lake. You are right down the road from Elgin so you can make quick trips to the store if you need to. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
