About the host
Hosted by owner/property manager McRae Roberts
I built the house in 2015-16 and am a native of the Madison County, North Carolina. However, I've lived all over the place until I went to Nantucket for a Summer and fell in love with the Island and it's residents both Seasonal and Year-around. I went to the island as a Fine Dining Waiter and Sommelier. A few years later I became the proprietor of the restaurant I worked for and later went on to be partnered in 2 other restaurants. The hours and partnerships were taking a toll on me and after working with a successful caterer in the Palm Beaches, I decided that's where my talents were and started "Catering by McRae" on Nantucket a few months later and lived and worked seasonally on Nantucket and The Palm Beaches and was blessed with over 20 years of success. I also worked on a very part-time, fill in Inn Keeper for "The Woodbox Inn" which is the Oldest Inn on Nantucket. Unfortunately the elderly owner and dear friend died unexpectedly. It was my inspiration from The Woodbox that inspired me to build vacation rentals on inherited property. And here we are...
