Enjoy our very roomy, 1,500 sq. ft. lake level private guest suite, in our Owner occupied home, only a 3 minute walk from Dusty's Landing
Watch boats, canoes, kayaks and fishermen float by while enjoying our water level patio. Our 3 bedroom (3rd BR is is available for 3 or more additional "paid" guests), 2 baths, fireplace, "large foyer used as 2nd BR", living room, and fully stocked kitchen all with water view and walkout patio. Laundry, WiFi, local TV and Roku, pontoon rental for a water visit to lake restaurants and bars. Fishing on 230' sea wall with fishing equipment provided

We are near Firestone Country Club, minutes from the areas finest dining and night clubs, a short drive to Canton (20 min.) and Cleveland (35 min), Akron/Canton Airport (15 min) and Cleveland Airport (45 min). Easy day trips to visit NFL HOF, Ohio & Erie Canalway, Cuyahoga Vally National Park, Akron Zoo, Cleveland Zoo, Cedar Point, Rock & Roll HOF and Cleveland sports teams. Fine dining, wine bar, lake bars, fast food, burger joints, Pav's famous ice cream all less than 2 miles. Turkeyfoot Golf Course only 2 minutes away. Groceries 4 minutes away.

We enjoyed our stay and the owner greeted us when we arrived and was friendly. I gave a couple of 4 stars only because of very minor things like my daughter in law being afraid of spiders and saw two tiny ones. It is a beautiful somewhat wooded back yard so it's inevitable to have a couple of spiders inside. And we noticed some of the complimentary items left out, such as tea bags, advil, body care, had expired by many years ago. It's easy to get to, and a relaxing space, just not modern. We appreciated it.

Thanks for your review. Your spider complaint is the 2nd in 10 years. We vacuum after every guest and always look for spiders. We absolutely do NOT use any insecticides on our property or in our home. We are also sorry our home was not up to date and elegant. We strive to provide a comfortable visit and eschew the latest trends which all go out of style within 3-5 years. The furniture is a mix of our parents and our own furniture. We are also reluctant to replace furniture, for example, after the damage done by guests who do not know why there are drink coasters on every piece of furniture. Several of the furniture pieces were quite expensive when purchased. On a final note we were a bit upset when we found the AC temperature set at 69 and the kitchen door left open several times for long periods on hot and very humid days. Also leaving for the day with lights left on in every room we think is very wasteful. Other than those 2 issues your group was great.

We really enjoyed staying here! There are huge windows that look into the back yard and the water. It is very large and we had more than enough room. It’s at the end of a cul-de-sac which made it very nice for people stopping to visit with us. Highly recommend

The host made our stay so welcoming. Right down to fresh snicker doodles and a kind note.We were in a very stressful transition of moving from Maine to Ohio, and their place allowed us to warm and comfortable with our dog and have a safe place for her to explore outside. It was also a huge relief to have a safe place for our uhaul cargo trailer to sit while we drove our car to various appointments for closing on our house.Great experience!

We grew up in the area and took advantage of the recreational activities as children. Wife is a life resident of the area. We moved back to the area after military service and bought a water lot in 1987.

We have a rich history of 100+ years which connects us with the Ohio, Erie and Pennsylvania/Ohio Canals, Delaware Indians, Portage Path, Ohio Dept of Wildlife, Portage Lakes State Park, Connecticut Land Grants, the Western Reserve, prohibition, farming, coal mining and water sports.

Today, most residents living in the area will tell you they live in Portage Lakes which encompasses the cities of New Franklin, Green and Coventry Twp. If a resident tells another Ohio resident they are from Portage Lakes, most will know where you live. When given the official name of your resident city, the majority will have no idea where you live.
During the 1980's and 1990's a transition from weekend cottages to upscale modern homes began. As Carolyn Vogenitz, author of 'Portage Lakes Then & Now' has stated, it became a sardine & caviar look. Many a new upscale home might sit next to a tiny cottage dating back to the early 1900's.
