About this property
Hilltop Cabin + Starlink + Views + 10 mins to Park
At the top of the hill, past giant saguaros, open the gate and drive up to a small cabin on five boulder-strewn fascinating acres on one of the highest points in the city of Twentynine Palms, with huge views to the north, west, and east. Bask in the private hot tub or just sit at the private fire pit and enjoy the stars, take the mile-long trail through the property, or check out the wildlife at the pond. Inside, unwind in a cozy studio (320 sq ft), with a really comfortable queen bed, linen sheets, and the amenities you want: smart TV you can watch from bed, complete kitchenette with drip coffee maker (coffee and decaf supplied), and a full bath. Ten-minute drive to the park entrance, and three minutes to groceries. It's perfect for a shorter visit of up to a week, or if you're on a road trip passing through. At night, the stars are spectacular. This is our house, and we're local, so if you need anything -- advice, help, etc. -- we're here to help.
A larger house is also on the property, but you have a separate gate, a separate driveway, and the cabin is (check the reviews) very private. This is our property that we manage ourselves, and we are local if you need anything.
The cabin sits atop a hill near Chocolate Drop, a Hershey Kiss-shaped hill that rises above the rest of Twentynine Palms (the summit of Chocolate Drop is a pleasant and easy hike from the house). At the bottom of the hill is a grocery store and gym; five minutes away is downtown and its many restaurants and bars. About ten minutes away is the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park (the good entrance, not the clogged one in Joshua Tree village). Star gazing is stunning here.
There is public transportation, but it is inconvenient and probably impossible in hot weather. Realistically, you need a car.
The guesthouse is heated and air conditioned so you'll be able to relax in comfort no matter what the weather.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We absolutely loved our stay, thank you so much! The hot tub was super relaxing, the bed was very comfortable and the scenery was breathtaking. Can’t wait to come back!
The host was communicative and answered all of our questions. The price was better than all the other homes in the area. The home was adorable and exactly as listed and had plenty of utensils / cooking supplies! I’ll be back for my next trip to the area!
Location is perfect to visit Joshua Tree! Just 6 minutes to the entrance, plus a nice view atop the hill for the stay. They had all the amenities we needed. Air fryer, coffee, microwave, fire pit, and a comfy bed!
What a lovely little place conveniently located for a visit to the National Park! Our host was wonderful with great communication and a comprehensive guide that listed everything we could need to know about the area. It was perfect for our trip!
My husband and I stayed for one night while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Nice location, property as described. GREAT communication from host. Would stay again.
Everything was great but there was no hot water at all. We only stayed one night. Hot tub was nice and hot but i couldn't rinse off in the shower bc there was no hot water. I did wipe down before going in the hot tub, which was what the owners wanted. Mattress was excellent; view is outstanding and communication with the owners was fabulous!
Small but mighty. Perfect vantage point to the valley below, the hot tub at night watching the stars was amazing. Sunset and sunrise experiences. Got pizza from Rocky’s and it was top notch. Great property, wonderful communication with owner. We’d highly recommend
My wife and I had a wknderful stay at the Hillside Cabin! Everything worked as advertised, and the bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We enjoyed the hot tub both nights of our stay, feeling very private on top of the hill as we looked at the stars. The cabin is very close to Joshua Tree National Park, which is where we spent most of the day time. This cabin is simple, cozy, clean, and just what we needed for a short stay. Great communication from the owner, and easy helpful directions to access the cabin. We will certainly stay here again if we make it back to the area.
This guest house was so perfect. It had a stunning view of the town and was close to restaurants, grocery stores, and supplies as well as Joshua Tree National Park (and some other national preserves).Everything in the guest house was immaculate. They provided clearer directions well in advance as the GPS always tries to send you an inaccessible way. Antony was very proactive and communicative and answered any questions I had quickly. Would absolutely stay again!
Perfect location, everything has been well thought out for your stay, really enjoyed the view. Main property is directly adjacent to guest house. Separate gate and drive way. Will stay again
Clean and cute bungalow with a wonderful walking path amongst the rocks. We arrived later that we had wanted to but check-in was super easy with clear instuctions for arrival. Amazing night sky viewing with a fire pit for s'mores! We loved the stay and would certainly return for another trip to Joshua Tree National Park.
Just a few minutes from the main strip, this little cabin was far enough away to be nice and quiet with hilltop views for stars and sunsets. Throughout our stay we were impressed with the hosts concise communication, including a thoughtful booklet detailing the best spots in town. Unit was clean and simple, and still felt nice and private. Great spot at a great price!
My wife, pup and I stayed here for the weekend and loved it! Antony was very communicative and handled all questions I had immediately, and even promptly shipped my glasses that I accidentally left behind. Great value for the price. Definitely recommend!
Antony’s guest house was a nice respite for my pup and I while my wife did a trip with her sisters in Palm Springs. It was exactly as described in the listing. I would recommend it as an alternative to staying at a hotel when exploring the region and Joshua Tree Park.
We had a great experience staying at Antony’s apartment. We received a lot of instructions including how to get there prior to our arrival. The short dirt road wasn’t a concern if we traveled from 2 mile road. After we arrived, we were impressed by how he included a guestbook with lots of information about the area and WiFi password. The starlink wifi was also very fast. We enjoyed our stay and we were glad we chose this place for our Joshua Tree trip!
After car camping for a few night this place got the important things right: views, comfy bed, good coffee. The driveway situation was a bit rough on my Honda civic, note there are TWO driveways to go up so if you’re looking at the super steep and rocky one, go around the block.
