Loved the historical significance and urban/industrial design. Was nice to walk across the road to the coffee house and visit the shops and historical society.
The interior of the house is even better than the pictures online. We absolutely loved our stay. Franklin is a cute town. We like to sit on the porch with coffee and watch traffic (be sure to bring your own chairs for this). The foyer is also super cute! FYI for those who mind, the house is on a busy street, so there’s always traffic going by and its somewhat noisy. It didn’t bother us, but that might make a difference to some people.
From the feel of days gone by to the decorating throughout the apartment, it was beautiful. I would love to buy this house for myself! Great stay and a short short walk to the coffee house and square for shopping and eating. We will be back.
Very clean, beautifully decorated apartment. Town of Franklin is quaint and quiet. The Christmas lights in the center of town could be in a Hallmark Christmas movie.
The Duncan property was wonderful. It was beautifully decorated and very spacious. We were there only 2 nights but I wish it was more. Maybe next time.

Thanks so much Joyce! So glad you all had a nice stay, and will look forward to your next visit.
Visiting family in Franklin/Whitehouse area but wanted our own place to come back to at night and this was perfect. It's an old historic home but it appears very new inside. They did a great job with restoration and I would recommend staying. We wished there were chairs on that little back porch or the front but all else was great.

We have a love of good architecture, and enjoy bringing old historic homes back to life.
Why they chose this property
Franklin, Kentucky is a special place, with friendly people and plenty of things to do. It is easy access from I-65, and a short drive from Nashville. The downtown area is usually decorated for the holidays, and the community regularly has concerts and events to entertain.
What makes this property unique
The Duncan House is an Italianate house originally built by Dr. Duncan in the mid-1800s. He was a surgeon on the civil war and a respected doctor and philanthropist in the area. As much as possible we retained the charm and original elements of the home, and repurposed timber and other finds.
