About this property

Cozy, upstairs, fully remodeled 1-bedroom apartment. With AC and WiFi

The Jefferson Suite boasts one inviting bedroom with a cozy queen bed. Step inside this charming and enchanting retreat, where you'll find all the comforts of home. With amenities like WiFi, a washing machine, AC, heating, a hair dryer, Coffee pot and all pans and dishes, and completely new everything, you will absolutely be able to have a relaxing stay. Immerse yourself in the welcoming atmosphere and unwind after a day of exploring. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out, or look into our information booklet there, in the apartment.

The apartment is just 3 short blocks from Historic Main Street which offers historic buildings, great coffee shops, bars, restaurants, art displays and shops. Also, every Thursday in the summer is farmers market at Grinnell Street, and every 3rd Thursday, Main Street is closed in the afternoon to traffic for a street festival.

The apartment is also just 4 blocks from Kendrick Park which offers walkways along Little Goose Creek, playgrounds, and a band shell hosting bands as well as theater events through the summer months. Don’t forget to stop by the historic ice cream shop there in the park as well. There are also miles and miles of walking/bicycle trails in and around Sheridan.

Located just a short drive from the Big Horn mountains, you will find wide empty spaces of wilderness with breathtaking views in all directions. One of our favorite parts of Jefferson 201 is that the apartment is situated completely away from the clamor of Main Street.

It is a restful and peaceful location where guests can enjoy days of activities and later relax in a apartment that has been truly designed to offer the highest amenities of a home to our guests.

When we envisioned Jefferson, 201, we wanted to have a place where an individual or a couple could really rest and fully enjoy their time alone or together in beautiful Sheridan. Jefferson 201 as well as the rest of the home is equipped with a whole house water filtration system. The home was built with little to no VOC (volatile organic compounds) and the bed is CertiPUR-US® certified.

My name is Curtis and I am a builder and property developer. I love taking something old and making it new again. like a painting, I love to envision what could be and then try to make my thoughts into reality. I have hosted VRBO property before in a home I built in the mountains of Colorado.
This home, I actually purchased without seeing it after deciding I wanted a home in Sheridan. 5 weeks after I purchased, I came up and realized the entire house was sitting directly on the dirt. I chose to lift the entire home up, put 2 basements in the front and back of the home and then set the whole house on the new foundation.

Although it would have been less costly to have torn the entire home down and build new, I wanted to keep the shape of the old home in tact. While personally taking this 1906 home completely apart wall by wall, I found so many artifacts from old toys to clothing, books, magazines and newspapers. I have collected all these items and am trying to figure what I could do to show them to you my guests because they are really quite amazing to see.

The house I believe was a coal miners home. Several of prayers and papers were in German but then there were old papers in English as well. Those dated early in the 1900s.

The funniest find was under the dilapidated front porch. When I pulled it off the house, underneath was a paper from 1931 and the headline was, "8 people arrested on Main street" They were arrested for having a keg of beer and some cases of whiskey. This was of course during prohibition and liquor was illegal. The funny thing was right next to the still rolled up paper, was an empty whiskey bottle stamped with Sheridan right on the bottom of the bottle. After that I was hooked on finding more items and really did find so much!

I love being able to share our home with others. I hope you see we tried to go all out on comfort and put the most into the home without skimping on amenities. My wife and I wish you the most fun time! God Bless.

Why they chose this property

We love this location of the home because it is only a few blocks from Main Street and Kendrick park. At this location you don't hear the traffic sound from Main Street and it is VERY quiet. The park across the street is great all year round, my favorite time is in the winter. the sled hill is VERY fast and the kids and adults use the hill extensively! It is so much fun watching them come down the hill!! I am going to try it myself next year for sure!!
There is plenty of parking on the street for the house as well and there really are very fews cars that ever go by the house. The whole house is very bright and we enjoyed thinking about the best way we could make an old house shine like it never had before.

Neighbors came by and told us this house was used as a nursing home in the 1960 and 70s and that one of them had actually worked at the home. They loved watching it get rebuilt!

What makes this property unique

I believe our home is the only short term rental that has been completely redone and restored. At around 600 square feet of apartment we also believe you will really feel the coziness of what this apartment offers you. My wife LOVES the apartment and just the warmth of how she feels by the big windows looking out on the park when reading a book.

We believe you too will love the space and wish you the very best.

Sincerely, Curtis
