We have stayed at Little Moose Lake 6 times, and love it every time. There have been some improvements--a wonderful new dock and upgraded grassy areas. Our favorite thing to do is floating around the lake on the huge wooden raft with a motor. Bliss watching the trees everywhere and the blue sky.
Best Family vacation ever! Unplugged completely. Very beautiful and private property. So many fun things to do. My 12 and 13 year old boys didn’t have internet for a week and loved every minute of it. My Wife really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and rustic ambiance with all the modern conveniences minus internet. We hope to come back again in the future.
It was an absolutely beautiful place. Like it was plucked out of a Disney fairytale. I wish we had more time to spend at the property itself. I could've spent my entire stay on that deck, staring at the lake, listening to the birds. A place of true peace & tranquility. It was a privilege.
Amazing property, we keep coming back! Heidi is awesome to communicate with and super accommodating. The updated dock is a huge bonus! It was the perfect way to spend our last week of summer break.

Thank you for your review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to booking with you again.
I don't want to give an amazing review about this amazing cabin in the woods with it's own amazing lake because I want it to stay a hidden gem in the woods... Great stay, super communication with the owner. The place was fabulous for a cabin and the amenities were abundant. Although the fish wouldn't let you pet them, my 10 year old nephew had the most memorable fishing experience of his life, tooling around his personal lake on his own boat (provided by the owner with a trolling motor!). And the 14 year old niece didn't complain about not having internet on her phone once! Perfect...

Disappointing Christmas away.
I rented this cabin for a Christmas getaway with my family. Having recently lost my son, we did not want to be at home with all of the reminders at Christmas. We found this cabin to be less than satisfactory. Having arrived with no heat in the cabin (it is heated mainly by wood stove and a fireplace) we were freezing until the next morning. There were also so many light bulbs burned out that it was hard to see (Only 1 bulb worked in the basement family room and none in the light above the stairs. Also, the table only seated 5 while the cabin is advertised for up to 12 people. This cabin comfortably sleeps and seats up to 8 people in my opinion. The owner volunteered a refund of one of the night's cost in consolation of the cabin not being ready for us. It is nearly 2 months later and I have not received a refund despite reaching out to the owner via email and phone several times.

Do to this response I have made some changes to my check list before guests arrive.
But I do feel I need to address these issues.
1. It was 55 degrees in the cabin upon arrival, there are electric wall heaters in each bedroom and bathrooms. The fireplace and the wood stove are not the only source of heat. It was 85 degrees when the guests left.
2. In the tract lighting there was only one bulb, there is also 2 other lights that could have been turned on. All of the other lights worked in the cabin.
2. Unknown to me, a prior guest broke the table so that the extra leaf would not work. There is also a card table with folding chairs.
The next day we brought a new table that seats 8 and replaced the 3 bulbs in the basement.
I offered the guests one night off the total at the cabin that night and asked if they could email the address where they wanted the refund. When I finally received it they had the refund in 3 days.
Respectfully
Ron
Imagine total privacy, coupled with an amazing cabin/lodge, then throw in a pristine mountain lake all to yourself. You can stop imagining now, and just book your stay instead.
We are VERY seasoned renters of secluded cabins, lodges, beach houses, restored schoolhouses, house boats, etc. We’ve stayed at some spectacular places over the last 30 years. This was in the top three. It might even take the gold.
Bring yellowjacket traps and sprays with you is the only recommendation for renters. There were defunct traps and many empty yellowjacket spray cans when we arrived. That speaks to the abundance of these troublesome pests in the area. Other than that, perfection. We never saw ONE MOSQUITO in a week, which was unexpected and amazing.
Our only suggestion to the owners is to screen in the deck, or at least a portion of it.
Thank you, Heidi. We had a magical time. We’ll be back next year for sure!
I’ve already written review; this was just an additional 2 nights attached to stay.
What I would like to add that I omitted previously: love the place, however, would highly recommend a good shampoo of lower floor carpet. Seems carpet stains were the same as last summer, maybe worse. Also, “Damp Rid” to eliminate moisture and musty odor in lower floor .
Otherwise, Little Moose is still a wonderful getaway!
This property is totally a calming, stress reducing place. Apparently, logging was being done on state land so we did hear logging trucks , but that did not really bother us. Amazingly serene location; as my sister said
“all we had to think about was what to have for dinner “
Our second summer vacation there. Last summer booked too late so only 6 nights. Booked early this time for 2 weeks.
Location absolutely wonderful! Cabin rustic; felt like being really out in “the woods “
Hopefully will return next summer
Thank you Heidi and Ron!
We wanted to take my MIL on a special trip for her 85th birthday. She requested a cabin in the woods with a view. Oh how she enjoyed this home on the lake. We sat and watched the birds and breathed in the fresh air. We all enjoyed the cabin and the lake and are blessed with the memories.
Beautiful property, the view of the lake from the cabin porch is amazing. Lots of wildlife to see on the property. It was very remote and private. We would love to go back again
Honestly, I'm hesitant to be honest out of fear of others using this and it not being available for us again. It was perfect, peaceful, private, comfortable and adorable! The manager always responded quickly and was so kind! We will be staying here again and again
