Historic downtown bungalow, a short walk to hot springs and dinosaur museum.
The house: Our cute and comfortable kid-friendly house was built in 1918 and is located in historic downtown Thermopolis, Wyoming. Remodeled in 2023, it has all new appliances and modern amenities yet maintains that old western charm of Wyoming. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twins, and both bedrooms as well as the living room have smart TVs. We also offer a reading library, board games, and kids toys upon request. There are two adult bikes, two kids bikes, and a bike trailer for the littles.
Extra towels are provided for your trips to the mineral hot springs. A local tip: don’t wash your swimsuit with other clothing after you’ve been for a soak, as it will make everything smell like sulphur!
This house is over 100 years old and has lots of character. Please be advised that the floors have settled over time and are slightly uneven in some areas. We have a free-standing AC unit in the living room, however there is no central AC. The bedroom fans help circulate air and keep the house cool, and at night it’s best to turn off the AC and open the windows.
The town: The house is at the end of the main street in Thermopolis, just one block from local restaurants and bars. It's a short walk along the Bighorn River to world class fishing and Hot Springs State Park, where you'll find the free mineral bath house, two swimming complexes with waterslides, mineral terraces boardwalk, and the swinging bridge. Also nearby you can visit the Wyoming Dinosaur Center or drive through the pasture where the buffalo roam. Thermopolis is a wonderful stop about an hour from the Big Horn Mountains, two hours from Cody, Wyoming, and a bit more than two hours to Yellowstone National Park.

We enjoyed our stay. It is perfectly located in Thermopolis. It was a great place to stay for our fishing trip. We hope to be able to rent it again next year.
This property was great location close to the hot springs and the dinosaur museum. Many restaurants are within walking distance too. My only complaint was we all wish the beds were a little more comfortable but otherwise it was great.
Cute location right near the center of everything in thermopolis. The house was clean, the bed comfortable and all the extras the owners provided were perfect. There was plenty of room for 4 women to hang out! We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
Very well appointed, clean, and cozy house in a very good location. It’s walking distance to all the restaurants and a short drive to hot springs. The hosts are so friendly and helpful! Much better than staying at a hotel. And have I mentioned the laundry room? We really enjoyed our stay.
The property was perfectly placed for what we were visiting for. Everything was walkable for us, the weather was questionable one day and the house didn't have the tools for us to safely enter or leave the house as the walk way is slopped down and it was very icy. We went purchased some salt and were reimbursed so that we could safely access the property.
Very good property. The air conditioning was absolutely efficient even in 95 degree heat. The picture doesn't show but there was grass in the front yard and deer/elk were grazing in the morning and seen on side of building in evening. Will stay again when we get that way in the future. We very much enjoyed our stay.
A charming place in a great location. Our only suggestion would be to have more information on the house's history available with photos of before and after renovation (if possible).
We loved this beautiful historic home! The location was amazing, we could walk to the shops and restaurants and it was very close to the hot springs and the park. The house was clean, comfortable and so well-appointed. We will look forward to staying here again when we come back next June. Highly recommend this lovely property
Don't use VRBO much so don't know how to give a fair review. It's an older, small home, but it was perfect for our needs. We met our daughter and husband as a half way point for Thanksgiving. Not much in these small Wyoming towns. But, we enjoyed the restaurant and the free state hot springs.
Highly recommended! Warmly decorated, simple and accommodating. Very meticulous! Lots of little extras that you will make notice of. We will be back! Thank you, Lettie!!
This was just right for my two friends and myself. It was a little hot when we first got there, but we opened the window that night. Then, the air conditioner we was able to catch up!
When you stay in a charming town like Thermopolis, you want to stay in a charming home that’s close to everything and this little place delivers. Not only is it walking distance to several bakeries (shout out to those cinnamon rolls at Broadway Bakery), a brewery/saloon, and other restaurants, it is a short drive to the Hot Springs Parks, pools, and museums. The home itself has the character of a well maintained and well loved house (built shortly after the town was first established) with enough space to stretch out on a comfy couch or gather at the big table. The kitchen is ready for anything and even a washroom with fully washer/dryer too!
How do I summarize this? It was so awesome! The place is just as described, perfect for us!! Wade was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. The first thing my grandson did was go to the toy box.. we stayed there because it was close to the pool which was great and realized it was the perfect spot to watch the fireworks. The fenced yard is nice and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My husband and granddaughter rode the bikes to the pool. Being a little out of the mainstream was nice.. but we could still walk to town. It was perfect and I would highly recommend it and hope to stay there again sometime. I love the uniqueness with the history. I also found it helpful to have a folder with things to do and places to eat at in the area.Thank you Wade!!!
