About this property
Experience Montana on the Kootenai River!
Escape to Big Sky country where you can surround yourself with the sights, sounds, and smells of nature with all the comforts of this newly remodeled home at hand. Only five minutes from the amenities and activities of Libby, MT, you’ll find yourself breathing deeply while watching the calming flow of the Kootenai River in your backyard.
Wildlife abounds including deer, water fowl, and birds. You'll watch bald eagles drop from the trees and catch their meals from the comfort of the living room couch or down on the river deck. On a clear, new moon night, you'll do your best to capture the brilliant Milky Way.
The winter months bring quiet snow, the smell of wood-burning stoves, neighborhood deer and ample viewing of the migrating bald eagles roosting in the trees over the river. Just forty minutes away is Turner Mountain ski area. Quiet and powder-ridden, this is a must for any skier along with a stop at the Red Dog Saloon for pizza on the way home. At night, you'll venture to the end of the driveway with your phone to capture the moonglow on the snow-covered cabinet mountains.
Just fifteen minutes downriver from the Libby Dam and 92-mile long Lake Koocanusa, you can spend an entire day on the lake and see only a handful of boats. Whether you spend the day fishing or playing and swimming at the Souse Gulch Recreation Area, you’ll feel like Lake Koocanusa is your own private paradise.
With the Kootenai River, a "Blue Ribbon River", in your back yard, quiet Lake Koocanusa just up the road and over 400 miles of hiking trails in the Libby Area, the options to immerse yourself in nature are endless. When you're ready for people and fun, head to town for one of the many festivals and events.
