About the property:
The first level has direct access to the hot tub and lounge area, this level features a complete bathroom, a spacious bedroom, and a large living area.

On the `main level,` be captivated by the stone fireplace and unique wooden details as soon as you enter. This floor boasts two bedrooms, a complete kitchen, a full bathroom, and a bright living and dining room. Step onto the expansive wrap-around porch, for coffee, conversations, and stunning views of nature.

Ascend to the loft/lounge area on the upper level for relaxation, meditation, yoga, or to just hang out. The master bedroom awaits with its private balcony, hot tub, and full bathroom. Discover a blend of comfort and nature in this log chalet haven!

This property is a very short drive to Plage Pelissier (municipal boat launch) where you can access Lac McGregor. Rental includes 2 inflatable paddle boards

Guest Access:
Guests will be able to access everything in the home and are free to walk around the land. Please do not enter the wooden structures/sheds outside because they have not been inspected and could be unsafe.

Wonderful Stay in a Peaceful Setting

This log house is a true gem! Nestled in a beautiful field surrounded by forest, it offers a serene and cozy retreat—perfect for unwinding in nature. The cottage itself is well-equipped, comfortable, and full of charm.One thing to note for winter travelers: the road leading up to the property can be quite icy, and having a 4x4 is highly recommended for easier access. With the right vehicle, this peaceful escape is absolutely worth it!Overall, a fantastic stay, and we would love to return!

Bad customer services

I was staying there for 3night with friends but There was no heat in basement for one night and in the bulding there was a lot of mosquitoes, insect, bees, there was no hot water in bathroom for 2days, bad customer services from management of this house. i recommended everyone to be careful with this house.

A Perfect Getaway!

I had an amazing stay at Casa Madera Chalet! This cozy log home, surrounded by stunning natural beauty, was the perfect retreat. Bright and welcoming interiors, along with a crackling fireplace, created such a warm, homey feel. Large windows offered breathtaking views. The expansive deck was ideal for morning coffee, and soaking in the hot tub while enjoying panoramic landscapes was pure bliss. The peaceful surroundings provided just the right escape. Our host Luis was incredibly thoughtful and responsive, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Their attention to detail really made my stay special. Rustic charm, serene beauty, and outstanding hospitality make this place a true hidden gem. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a tranquil, scenic getaway!

Nice Cottage but Poor Land Management

The cottage is beautiful but poor property management soured 1 of 3 nights. A snowstorm hit 2 days before our checkin, yet only 40mins before arrival when we were already on the way the host informed us the driveway wasn’t plowed due to issues with removal companies. His instruction was to “not park all the way up at the cottage just go as far as your car allows” and a plow would arrive shortly. As we drove up we learned their private road wasn't cleared either so our truck got stuck. It took 2 hours to dig it out and after a neighbor told us we actually weren’t allowed to park on the road, we had to wait with the cars in the driveway of another neighbor who wasn’t home. I’m not sure where else we could have gone since the road attaches directly to the highway. The plow arrived 3 hours after checkin and took another hour, meaning we spent 4 hours digging out snow and waiting in the cars before accessing the cottage. The host’s father even suggested WE pay for the plow before backtracking that they would “generously” pay.With only 40 minutes notice for snow that fell 2 days earlier, no real plan for parking, and the cottage inaccessible 250m of knee-high snow away, our first night was completely disrupted. I get things happen but snow in rural Vals-des-Monts is a predictable problem and communication was inadequate. After the trip the host denied a partial refund, instead offering 20% off a future stay—although if he won’t make good on this one, why would we stay again?
