Fantastic location!
I went alone to Kampala on a short working holiday and I stayed at Millie Apartments. I paid Uganda Shillings 100,000.00 (equivalent to USD 30.00) for the taxi from Entebbe International Airport to the apartments. The place was very easy to find. Dan, the owner, had given me very good directions.
The property was well designed and is well secured. All areas are of ample size: the sitting room and dining area, bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen. The housekeeper, Regina, was always on hand to offer assistance during daytime. The location is splendid. A big shopping mall (which houses Capital Shoppers supermarket) is within less than 7 minutes' walk from the property. I got all my foodstuffs and cleaning supplies from that mall. In the same place there are banks, bureaux de change, pharmacies, restaurants and mobile phone outlets among others.
Each time I wanted to go to downtown Kampala, I found commuter public taxis just in front of the shopping mall. The charge was Uganda Shillings 1,000.00 equivalent to 30 US Cents. Coming back to the property from downtown Kampala was no problem: I found commuter public taxis waiting at the City Square (Officially called the Constitution Square). I had no reason to use special hire taxis and I made considerable savings in this respect.
I am planning to go back to the same property in December this year with my family.
