The towns main attraction may be the 2 miles of beach, fishing or launching your boat from one of the 10 marinas, but you may be surprised by other activities in the area. Look for sea glass during low tide. Rent a golf cart to check out the vibrant arts scene; explore historic sites; tour wineries and breweries; or nature lovers will delight in the opportunity to spot bald eagles, osprey, ducks, and swans at designated bird sanctuaries at Westmoreland State Park and Caledon State Park. You can even hunt for shark teeth!

Very nice place! Clean, safe, roomy with a wonderful layout. Close to everything, including the beach. Great entertainment area. Quiet at night. Perfect getaway for the entire family. We’ll definitely be staying there again. Can’t recommend Peg’s Place enough!!

We wanted a quick last minute weekend beach trip and this was perfect! We had never heard of Colonial Beach but the drive from Northern VA was a breeze. The house is great! Clean and in a nice quiet area close to the beach. We missed out on renting a golf cart but would recommend as most people use them.

Better than we expected!!! This was a last minute (literally) after we had booked a different property a couple of months ago. That property fell through the day before we were scheduled to arrive. Props to Karen (host) and VRBO for helping us save the trip. We were asked what we thought could be done to make the listing more representative of the house. Karen & Jim live in NOVA. This is our second AirBNB. Our first one is in Basye, VA where Karen has many childhood and adult memories with her mother and father. Jim has a special connection with Colonial Beach as his grandparents lived there.

We love sharing our homes and the areas with guests in the hopes they create memories for themselves.

Why they chose this property

Playground on the Potomac is what the area is called. If you love everything water, sun, sand, nature, the arts or just plain relaxing, this is the place for you! This golf cart community hosts several weekend events throughout the season including a Sip and Stroll event where you can walk around area shops with your favorite cocktail in hand.

What makes this property unique

This fishermans cottage has gotten quite the facelift - from taking down walls to new flooring and a newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms. We have incorporated things to make this truly a home to sit down and relax in: numerous books and board games, 65" Smart TV, grill, firepit, corn hole and everything you need to head down to the beach (towels, chairs, toys, umbrella).
