Excellent location. Love having the horses on property to watch and pet. Owners were very friendly, helpful and quick to reply to messages. Suggest posting WiFi password in the cottage; we had limited cell service and needed access to check in instructions. Cottage very clean and well kept.
We loved this little cottage! Our kids loved the horses. The beds were very comfortable, and there were little thoughtful touches of home everywhere. It was unseasonably cold when we were there, but we were nice and warm. It was so cozy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back! It was very cold at the time and Laurie and Milley were quick to respond to my questions about heating. The place was charming and unique with its presence on the horse farm. We loved the all the decor...tasteful and new, the bedding...high end and comfortable. The design of the place was intriguing with the cathedral ceilings, stone fireplace and proximately to the working barn.
Our stay went very well. The host was very quick to respond to every question and was very helpful! It is an adorable cottage! My only concern was that the air did not cool the property very well.
Our family of four really enjoyed being able to see horses, dogs and kittens (all safely enclosed in their own spaces) while staying at this well appointed property - they even provided a few snacks for our arrival! Travelers should note there are not a lot of food or grocery shopping options nearby (15-20 minutes) so some planning ahead is recommended.
We were just visiting Charlottesville and the surrounding area for a few days during Spring Break. We live in northern VA and have spent time in the area, but more for work and less for fun. The cottage was great, clean, and calming. The hosts were responsive and friendly as well. If you’re looking for a place somewhat off the beaten path but close enough to all the things to do in the area, this is a great spot! If you love horses, Ruby is super friendly and will come say hello anytime!
Booked my parents for a couple of days and the below is their review:“My husband and I just returned from a lovely stay at The Pony Cafe in Keswick, Virginia.I can not begin to tell you what a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful place The Pony Cafe is.We were fortunate to meet Miley Pace one of the owners during our all too brief stay. Miley was so friendly, accommodating, and courteous. In the hustle and bustle of every day life, just take a moment to envision spending a few days on a beautiful horse farm. Waking up in the morning and opening the doors from a cottage that is decorated to perfection with loving, artistic talent (by Miley's mother, Laurie); and, enjoying the first cup of coffee of the day. We so enjoyed watching the horses in the fields, seeing deer come out of the woods foraging for grass; as well as, the songs of all the birds in the trees. What a perfect start to the day. Then, after touring about the peaceful countryside, to return in the afternoon; and, take in this beautiful scenery once again, while leisurely enjoying a glass of wine… Perfection. To give The Pony Cafe a rating of ten, is insufficient. We cannot wait to return for another relaxing respite in this beautiful countryside.”
