Mariners Club Townhouse, Epic Amenities, Tennis & Indoor Pickleball
The Florida Keys are located off the southern coast of Florida. They are a string of tropical islands stretching about 120 miles south / southwest, forming the southernmost part of the continental United States.
The Calusa Indians inhabited these islands over 6,000 years ago. In the early 1500’s the conquistador, Ponce De Leon sailed these waters and nearly wiped out the tribe. Famous pirates such as Edward Teach better known as Blackbeard and Jimmy Buffett frequented the Islands regularly. Some believe a pirate treasure is buried on one of the over 1700 islands.
In the early 1900’s, the Florida Keys were only accessible by boat. This changed with the completion of the Henry Flagler Overseas Railway in 1912. In 1935, a hurricane destroyed Flagler’s Overseas Railway, and a decision was made to convert the railway into an automobile roadway. U.S. Highway 1, also known as the Overseas Highway, runs from Miami to Key West.
One of our most famous residents, Ernest Hemingway, chose to call the Florida Keys home. He was a renowned author and in 1953 won a Pulitzer Prize for, The Old Man and the Sea. Hemingway was instrumental in putting the keys on the map as he often wrote about his adventures in his writings.
The Florida Keys are commonly referred to as the “Diving Capital of the World.” The expansive Florida reef is the only living coral reef in North America, and the third largest coral reef in the world. The diverse marine life, along with some spectacular shipwrecks, is the reason Key Largo is a world class dive destination. Not to be outdone, the Florida Keys are also world renowned for fishing, due to the number of world records, and the number of different species just off our shores. Many consider the Keys to also be the “Sport fishing Capital of the World.”
The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary protects approximately 2,900 square nautical miles of coastal and ocean waters from the estuarine waters of south Florida to the Dry Tortugas National Park. Within the boundaries of the sanctuary, lie spectacular, unique, and nationally significant marine resources including North America's only coral barrier reef, extensive seagrass beds, mangrove-fringed islands, and more than 6,000 species of marine life. The sanctuary also protects pieces of our nation’s history such as shipwrecks and other archeological treasures. Visitors to the sanctuary are encouraged to take advantage of the many recreational activities this amazing ecosystem has to offer, including world-class diving, swimming, snorkeling, and fishing.
The Mariner's Club is a unique, resort style property that allows its owners to rent their units to guests and extend their club benefits. The property has been recently updated. The townhouse is perfect for 2 families with kids. The unit also has two sleeper sofa's in the upstrairs and downstairs living rooms.
The Club is perfectly located on the oceanside of the island close to the reefs which provide world renowned snorkeling, diving, and fishing. Just past our 200’ pier, you will find Molasses Reef, recently rated “The most popular dive reef in North America”.

Erick was a great host. He reached out beforehand with all kinds of helpful information. It was a very easy check in and out process. The amenities were very nice and the kids and grandkids especially enjoyed a heated pool.
My husband and I took our three kids and their significant others and our grandbaby for an extended weekend prior to Christmas and we had a wonderful time creating memories together. This space was spotless, conveniently located, and perfectly suited our needs in every way. The hosts were wonderful to talk to and work with!!
The host is very welcoming, but it needs some updating and a good deep cleaning. It was clean, but there is a lot of deeper cleaning it needs like railings, vents, and walls. Otherwise, the convenience of the place is great, and the amenities the resort offers were amazing. Erick was great in letting us in early and making sure to answer any questions we had promptly. Erick was super helpful in giving us any pointers around the Keys.
Erick was very helpful, supportive and informative. The condo unit was well appointed in the kitchen, had fun games to play inside and out and was very comfortable overall. I'm a bit of a clean freak, so that's why we're giving 4/5; overall very clean, but things that get touched regularly like the railings were dirty and I cleaned them.
Remarkably clean! We have stayed in other units inside The Mariners Club and this unit was perfect for two families to comfortably vacation together. The kids loved the downstairs game area. We would definitely book this home again when we return to the Keys next year.
Great house and property. Our host was very nice and easy to communicate with. Lots of activities on property that helped keep our teens busy when we didn’t have an excursion planned. Highly recommended.
Check in was easy, house had everything you would need. Great game area and set up for the kids. The host responded immediately to my message. We had a great stay.
Our group was looking for a warm spot to relax and this place delivered! We had quite a few of us, so it was great to have many places to sleep and lots of living space. Mariner's Club was a beautiful spot and the pools were a beautiful place to spend relaxing days. We had no problem finding great restaurants nearby using Erick's recommendations.
We really enjoyed this property and the amenities offered. Erick was great to work with and gave us a ton of ideas and options for local food and day trips. We will be back. Thank you for sharing your home!
Our group had a great experience at Erick’s rental. The place is spacious, clean, comfortable and convenient. The downstairs game room is full of fun things to do too! We spent most of our time at the big pool. Erick was responsive and made sure our stay was fantastic.
We got this stay at a discounted rate through VRBO and I felt like the value was good. The community was beautiful, it felt safe and secure, and the house had plenty of space for everyone. The owner was very friendly and helpful.I would recommend adding some throw rugs and carpets throughout the space because it’s a lot of tile and makes it seem cold and makes it hard to keep the floor clean. But we would stay here again with our kids.
We really enjoyed the property! The space was great and a short drive to activities. Erick was super helpful and gave great tips on places to eat. He was readily available for any questions that came up. Two things to note- the bathroom for the main master only has a tub, no shower (so 3 bathrooms and two showers). Also, the bbq grill is a community grill at the club house, not on the patio. We may have been the only people to use it, so it was not a wait for grill our food. Overall, excellent stay and amenities! Would highly recommend.
Very impressed with the size and space of this unit. Great for a group . First floor with pool table and Arcade was great for the teens traveling with us!They had their own private space and upstairs we had a ton of space to spread out .Community is beautifully landscaped , has gorgeous ocean front location and lovely pool and amenities. Right across the street was a 4 star resort playa largo which we went for late lunch “ happy hour “ which is from 3-7pm st their restaurant “ sol by the sea”. Lovely vires and deliscious food. Great place to watch a sunset! Sweepinh bay views. At Mariners Club you can see the sunrise in the morning and across the street and see the sunrise at the end of a great day in the keys.It was too windy to go boating the entire weekend . But we did enjoy Easter Sunday service at St. Justin the Martyr and brunch at marker 88 .
The property was nice overall with plenty of amenities to keep us occupied. The owner, Erick, opened our stay with a call prior to our trip and gave us a list of activitites and restaurants to check out. All in all, he had great recommendations. There were a few issues with the unit, but the owner was pretty attentive to our requests and did their best to rectify the situations. We thoroughly enjoyed the waterfall hot tub and the pools. They were not overcrowded. The unit was filled with games and sport equipment so we could enjoy the tennis, bball, and pickleball courts. Overall, a good trip for our family. The only negative we experienced fhat could not be resolved was that the property was getting new electric lines installed so for 4 of our 7 nights, we were awakened by loud vibrating machinery digging holes and trenches right in front of our unit. It would have been nice to know that the construction was planned. Other than that, we will likely be back.
