We had a minor issue figuring out the oven lock, but we worked through it. Dell was very responsive to inquiries. Loved the location and all the hummingbirds in the garden. A great home in a great location.
We booked this house for Thanksgiving. I want to do it again next year too since cooking here was just a blast, beautiful big island windows all around and nestled into adorable Anderson Vally, Dales home is well appointed, full of art and antiques too. We just loved this stay.

Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway!
I rented the property for a weekend getaway with my closest girlfriends, and this place was perfect for the 8 of us, and my pup. Walking distance to wineries, a great market next door for a tasty lunch, and a cool bar down the block. Running in the area was absolutely beautiful. We sat in the hot tub and stared at stars at night, and it was a short drive into downtown Healdsburg. No complaints whatsoever! It was a beautiful property and we are all already talking about coming back next year!

Wonderful House!
My friends and I came up for a reunion when my husband and I moved back from Texas. The house was beautiful. The yard is huge. The spa is hot. We loved everything about it. We would definitely go back. The dog was even able to join us.

Thanks for being such great guests; I am glad you had such a good time in our lovely Alexander Valley; you are welcome back any time!
Our family stayed together in the home. The home is spacious and so beautiful and lovely. From the beautiful, hand painted dining table you can interact with people in the kitchen and watch the dozen of hummingbirds. It was a treat to stay there.
The owner, Dell, is charming and accomadating. He has put a lot of thought in his decorating and the kitchen is amazingly well stocked!!! He also provided a delightful bottle of wine to welcome us.
Bocce Ball Court added to more joys of the stay. The neighbor’s horses cheered us on.
I highly recommend the home for a special getaway.

Ideal Sonoma Getaway with Friends
We rented this house for a girls (group of 8) getaway in the Sonoma region and it was all that we hoped it would be. The location couldn't be more perfect - Medlock Ames and Hawkes are really great small wineries practically right next door (We did the food and wine pairing at Medlock Ames and hung out at the bar in the evening. The staff was wonderful and the cocktails were great. We did a tasting at Hawkes as well, also wonderful people). The Jimtown Store is right next door and has amazing food - gourmet sandwiches, salads, coffee and other snacks that you can get to go or eat in the charming seating area. The house is also close to Healdsburg. We booked a cab to take us to the Healdsburg Plaza to go out to dinner at Barndiva one night.
The view from this rental house is stunning - vineyard, farm and mountains all in one pretty setting. The horses next door always greeted us in the morning, as did the beautiful hummingbirds. We truly enjoyed sitting on the back porch sipping the local wine and watching the sun set. It was peaceful, quiet and picturesque.
The house comfortably fits 8 people. We had no problems sharing the space. The kitchen is very nice - perfectly sized for cooking a big meal - and the dining room table was a great place to sit down together to eat or play cards.
Finally, to Dell, who is a fabulous host: thanks for the bottle of wine (which we drank upon our arrival!) and for all of your tips on the area. We had a great time and look forward to coming back again! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a lowkey and beautiful retreat in wine country.

Passport Weekend 2012
A group of 5 of us stayed here for the weekend wine event known as Passport 2012. If you have never heard of the event, check it out. Well worth the trip and a lot of fun.
We have nothing but great things to say not only about the house but the owner as well. The location was great just outside of downtown Healdsburg which provided easy access to all grocers, restaurants, bars, and the freeway while still being just far enough away to really have that private wine country feel. It was 5 minutes max. into town and to the event. We ate breakfast every morning on the back patio with views of grape vines, horses grazing in the nearby fields, and many species of birds at their birdhouses in the backyard. Same routine for lunch. We ate out for dinner mostly, plenty of great choices in Healdsburg or surrounding areas.
When we arrived at the house there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. It slept the 5 of us very comfortably. The beds were quite comfortable as well with decent linens. Had satellite TV, fireplace, washer/dryer, and the large kitchen was great for entertaining. We had one issue the first morning we were there - the showers were not draining properly and either was one of the toilets. We called the owner and he was over within an hour and the plumber was on his way. He was very apologetic and offered the use of another guest house he had. Come to find out a root had found its way into one of the pipes which was causing the problems. When we got back to the house later that day everything was working fine and there were another 2 bottles of wine waiting for us to help ease the 'burden'. The point being, the owner is very attentive and really wants to make sure his guests enjoy their experience. We were so impressed we bought a Sonoma County landscape book to be used as a guest book from here on out. If you stay here you won't be dissapointed! Well worth it!

Dear Pamela and Matt (and Friends),
Thanks for your great review and being such sterling guests! Your graciousness regarding the unfortunate root problem was sincerely appreciated. I am glad we were able to resolve it quickly and during a time when you were out enjoying Passport Weekend. The Andy Katz book was an over-the-top unexpected treat for which I thank you so much! It will be a real asset to the house for others to enjoy. Thanks again for all the care you took in being guests; you treated my home like your own. I am so glad you had a good time and enjoyed yourselves. I hope you will be back and we get to know each other better. You are welcome back anytime.
Dell
This was an ideal location to visit a number of excellent small, family-owned wineries. We could walk to some, and it was just a short drive to others. The owner left us an extensive list of wineries that he recommended, which was very helpful. He also provided a few bottles of wine for our first evening--greatly appreciated! The house is also an easy drive to Healdsburg, where we ate dinners and walked around--a very charming town with an incredible number of excellent restaurants.
The house itself was comfortable and very thoughtfully stocked (plenty of wine glasses and corkscrews, first aid kits, easy directions for using the TV, a good supply of dinnerware, carrots for the horses). The patio was also a great place to drink morning coffee and watch the many birds attracted to the plants and feeders.
I'm so glad we chose Casa Colibri!
Two days in Wine Country is never enough, but Casa Colibri offered us a very comfortable stay. Conveniently located to wineries, tasting rooms and downtown Healdsburg, we wished we could have stayed longer. The horses and hummingbirds were a very nice touch! Dell is a very attentive/responsive host.
we had a fantastic time staying at this home. The home is older and somewhat quirky, but we found it to be fun and unexpected. Dell is a gracious host and very responsive to anything we needed. The location in the vineyards is great with two local tasting rooms within walking distance and famous wineries within minutes by car. The two horses next door came to visit regularly seeking attention and treats. Overall, we had a great time.
We had a great time here and really appreciate the hosts last minute accommodations for our change of plans! The location was close to wineries, and easy enough access to Healdsburg / freeway. The patio / yard were a great space to hang out in the evening with our group of friends. Overall a great stay.
My family of four and my sister’s family of four (4 teens total) had a fabulous time staying here. We spent the day on the Russian River and it was an easy drive. The property was perfect for our families and we loved the horses next door and the plethora of birds visiting the feeders. We would definitely stay again, great owner and very responsive. Lots of sleeping spots and just a wonderful time.
The place was incredible. It had all of the kitchen supplies and enough table settings for us to have luxurious dinners and big breakfasts in. With the outdoor dining table, grill, hot tub, ping pong, bocche, we spent most of our time outside relaxing, watching the birds and taking in the beautiful view. Dell was an amazing host and was very responsive. I can't wait to come back!
Everyone raved about the place, it was clean, spacious, and all the extra features like jacuzzi, ping pong, and friendly neighborhood horses really took it to the next level.
Dell is a wonderful host! So helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home. The property is amazing and our two little ones loved it! Thank you! We will be back for sure!
Can’t say enough about how special this place is. Dell is the perfect host who made our visit incredible. We walked into the house to fresh flowers, local wines in the fridge and carrots for the neighboring horses! Always a phone call away should we need anything.

Casa Colibri was beautiful. The house is spacious and very well equipped with kitchen equipment, glassware, and towels. We didn't do much cooking, but for what we had, we found absolutely everything we needed, much more than one typically finds in a rental house. The property is gorgeous and we enjoyed the numerous birds, the neighboring horses, and a bunny who visited each evening. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the bocce court! It was also lovely to arrive and find two bottles of wine chilling for us. Overall a very relaxing and pleasant few days which was just what we needed. We would be delighted to return in the future.
We have had a great weekend. The owner was very thoughtful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place for relaxing wine country exploration.
Our group of 6 ladies and one baby had a great time at Dell's property in Healdsburg. The photos should really be retaken because the house is so much nicer than they depict. The kitchen is the best part, with the HUGE island and nice wine cooler. We had so much fun cooking several meals together. There are plenty of beds to choose from, and it was nice to have bedrooms on both sides of the house so we could keep the baby on one side and let the others sleep on the other side in peace. The horses next door make for a fun visit in the backyard, and the hot tub was immaculate and spacious. The location of the property is fantastic, in a picturesque valley, and walking distance to some wineries. Dell was easy to communicate with - he gave us recommendations and was flexible about check-out time. We loved our stay and would definitely not hesitate to stay here again!
I live very nearby and can respond within minutes in most cases. My default behavior is to let my guests enjoy themselves without my involvement. I may stop by to meet you at some point in your stay but will contact you before I do. I am also available and will happily help you with any activity or pursuit upon request. I enjoy all the fruits of Alexander Valley and Northern California and know many local winemakers, wine growers, restaurants, hiking and biking trails, etc. I also bicycle, hike, love fine wines and dining. Sonoma County bristles with opportunity from the very active to just sitting on the deck looking at the vineyards and birds. I am available at your request for any activity or issue you may have with your accommodations. I am equally happy to make myself scarce so you can enjoy the privacy this country home offers.
Why they chose this property
This location is ideal. It offers the safety, privacy and charm of the wine country yet close to many amenities. The biking is second to none. Sonoma County has an average of 248 sunny days a year. This home is not only ideally situated, it is set up to fill a wide variety of needs so that everyone in your group will have a great experience. There are regulation bocce, pétanque, darts, outside Nordic spa, hula-hoops, frisbee, and a professional quality ping-pong table. An on-site photovoltaic energy system generates as much energy used so you will be having a carbon-free vacation! In addition, there is an electric car charging station free for your use. This property is a Sonoma County certified vacation rental property: TOT# 983N
What makes this property unique
The benefits have been well described with the exception of this: This home has everything you may need to have a fun and easy time. The decor captures the spirit of Sonoma wine country. It is extremely easy to feel at home here for a wide variety of family group types and ages. There is a spa large enough for your group to soak after a day of biking, wine tasting, hiking, or whatever your chosen activity is. You can walk to several tasting rooms, the Russian River or just watch the hummingbirds and many types of avifauna on the back deck.
