An Affordable Place to Sleep that Allows a Dog
This was a last-minute booking due to our other VRBO cancelling a few days before our stay. The apartment, the first level of a two unit home, is large. It's a place to sleep. This is a great option if you don't mind the area and you want lots of sleeping space, a good kitchen, and a good AC.While newly renovated, the apartment seems well worn. We could tell that the owner meant well by their renovations, but most of the home felt off. There was trash and cigarette butts around the yard and entrance to the apartment, spikey weeds were filling the yard/walkways (not good for our dog), a really unwelcoming smell when you enter the apartment, the bathroom sink's and tub's caulk/sealant were cracked, the toilet seat was loose, and the white linens on the bed we used had several hairs and slight staining. This is not the owner's doing, but the area felt rough. When we first drove by, there was someone in the private driveway, so we had to park on the street. While there was ample street parking, there were several cars driving by, dropping off and picking up people and things, and neighbors yelling at one another. The road is one way with parking in both sides, and it's tight. The alley is filled with mounds of trash from the neighbors. The second floor tenant was quiet, but the home doesn't have much soundproofing between floors, so we could hear them walking. We had to leave a day early and the host didn't respond to our message informing him of that.
