About this property
Modern Lakeside Cottage with Hot Tub on Beautiful Lake Buchanan
Welcome to our family's waterfront Lake Buchanan vacation home! Enjoy golden hour in the hot tub, sipping wine from our lakeside Adirondack chairs, or reeling in striped bass from the beach. Any way you choose to relax, this house oozes cozy nooks for your group to gather and unwind. Our peaceful lake house sits on a lot with unobscured lake views and direct access to Lake Buchanan.
Due to fluctuating water levels, our house sometimes offers waterfront access, but not always. Please check local water levels prior to booking. As of October 2024 the lake has been about 12 feet low. Boat ramps in the neighborhood are not accessible, but the swimming and fishing are great! You may use a public ramp at different areas of the lake, however.
Our house was fully renovated in 2021, from the inside it feels like a brand new home. The house gets great light and you don't want to miss the killer sunrise views! The house is waterfront on a very quiet portion of the lake in a peaceful rural neighborhood.
-Beach access to the lake (no boat dock).
-Two public boat ramps in the the neighborhood for launching your boat (check lake levels prior to booking)
-Two adult kayaks (1 tandem, 1 solo) and three children's kayaks are available for use.
-Hot tub on back patio, perfect for soaking up the amazing lake views.
- Property is next door to a quiet neighborhood park with small swing set and see-saw.
- There is a neighborhood convenience store (J&S) for basic things, but the closest grocery store is 20 miles away (Kingsland). We suggest loading up before you arrive at the house.
Other things to note:
- Wildlife: This home is surrounded by beautiful open space so on occasion and despite our best efforts, a stray bug, spider or other nature-loving creature may wonder inside, especially if a door/window is left open.
- You may encounter wildlife on the property as well, please enjoy, but be careful and stay at our property at your own risk. We have seen deer, turtles, fish, snakes and birds, etc.
*Regarding pets, pets are not allowed on property by guests as we do not have any fenced in areas. However, this is our personal vacation home, and our dogs do come to the property. While we keep it very clean, if pet allergies are a problem for you or anyone in your group, we suggest you book elsewhere. No refunds will be issued for allergic responses to animal traces on or near our property, nor for airborne particles that are out of our control.
- There is no closet in the upstairs bunkroom, there are a few luggage racks and plenty of space under the beds for storing bags.
-Guests will access to the whole house, including a small shed which holds the kid kayaks, paddles, a few life jackets and outdoor toys.
-No garage access
- Our house sits next to one of two neighborhood parks. There is not boat access from this park, but you will see other residents occasionally (mostly at sunset), it is a fairly sleepy park for the most part. Being next to the park allows for truly unobscured views of the lake, we do ask you to be respectful and courteous to our neighbors.
- Our house is set up with kids in mind, it is kid friendly as far as furniture and decorations. Pack and play with sheets is available. We also have a fun "kid nook" under the stairs and several games/toys and books for young kids. We do have steep stairs, so a baby gate may be helpful to bring if needed.
- There is no one living on site 24/7, we do have a caretaker who lives in the neighborhood to take care of any problems that may come up.

About the host
Hosted by Nick and Holley Quijano

We live in Austin, but get out to our Happy Place on Lake Buchanan as much as possible! We enjoy time on the water, swimming, fishing, kayaking, having friends and family join us and laughing around the dinner table and kitchen island for hours! We enjoy hosting so that other families can create great memories as well!
Why they chose this property
The community is quiet for the most part, very nice people, great neighbors. Dark skies, so we can see all the stars. We wanted a place we could be near water, but have a breeze to stay cool in summer. So when we found our place on "Breezeway" it was meant to me! It really is almost always breezy!
What makes this property unique
We are the last house on the street that dead ends on a lake peninsula. So we are waterfront, with a community playground park next door. It gives our property almost a 180 degree view of the lake and the hills. Beautiful sunrise across the lake, and then sit at the edge of water or lawn chairs to watch the sunset back towards the house. we like that it's beach entrance to the water everywhere, as its easier for kids (and adults) to enjoy the water. There are two boat slips in the neighborhood, we usually beach our boat for the weekend.
