In addition there is a beautiful outside deck of 1,500 sq. feet, a fire pit, Jacuzzi and outdoor barbecue, plus gorgeous lawns, butterfly gardens, and hiking trails and private relaxation spots right on the property that feature gorgeous views, and peaceful tranquility. Perfect for large families, large groups, or multiple families as the home provides large bedrooms with lots of privacy. Updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, over 3,600 sq. ft of interior living space, Palomar Vista Lodge will come to be your luxurious mountain getaway with friends and family for years to come. We are only 2 miles from the entrance of Palomar Mountain State Park, and 3 miles from the Palomar Observatory. In addition, we have 5 casinos within 20 miles if you want to enjoy some great entertainment, a great value meal, and take your chances at the tables or slot machines. Serving San Diego, Orange, and Riverside Counties, we are about an hour to an hour and a half from all points in Southern California, but you will feel like you are in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Beautiful property, enjoyable stay.

What a lovely house and property. My group enjoyed walking the grounds, using the jacuzzi, and relaxing with our coffee on the deck early in the mornings of our two night stay. Apart from a couple of minor inconveniences, we highly recommend this property and many of the group expresses a desire to rent this property again in the future.

Perfect for a family stay

This home was perfect for our annual family trip. The kids loved playing outside and exploring the property. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was very comfortable. The views are incredible! We will definitely stay here again.

Incredible Property

This place was perfect for our group. We enjoy spending time outside in nature and there were so many spots to enjoy the scenery, views, trees, pond and stream here. The views and the deck were breathtaking and so were the stars. Communication was great, we were provided with everything we needed and appreciated greatly the generous check in and checkout times. We hope we get the chance to return here! Truly a gem!

Beautiful, peaceful location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The grounds are beautiful, with amazing views. The location is very private. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything that we needed. Teens enjoyed the spa, the ping pong table, and frisbee golf. The toaster oven should be replaced as you can’t read the controls because it is so old. We would love to come back.

We could not have imagined or hoped for a more perfect setting for the gathering of our family. It is a stunning property. We spent most of our time on the huge deck surrounding the fire pit and surrounded by the peace and beauty of the Palomar forest. But most special of all is the view. It filled and soothed the soul. Everything about the property was as advertised. It had a very homey feel and it was very well stocked. The master en suite was gorgeous. We did not use the hot tub (we'll be back to try it!)Property manager/owner, Michael, was so very kind and easy to communicate with - best owner experience I have had on any STR site, ever.

Amazing Home

Great place for a family gathering

We got our family together for our annual stay. This is, by far, the best place we found to stay in several years. There’s lots of room, very clean, very well equipped. And we had quite a bit of snow left over from the week before so the kids had a lot of fun sledding. We never left the property during the four days we were there.

Winter Holiday Vacation

This property is amazing! Our group had 6 adults and 7 children, and everyone had a wonderful time. The house is very spacious with a lot of room to spread out. The backyard is huge. We were able to go sledding on the property which was a huge bonus. We definitely hope to visit again.

Awesome Friends Getaway

Perfect place to get away with your friends and kids. There was so much to do in the house the boys had a blast. Wonderfully remote with an amazing view and relaxing jacuzzi on the deck. The place had all the kitchen accessories needed to make lovely meals and definitely enough space for all 16 of us. Would definitely return!

Favorite House

We have been doing an annual NYE trip for 11 years and this is our 3rd time here! It’s a beautiful property and the house has everything we need. In the past there has been snow so we took advantage of some of the hills. This year there wasn’t snow but that meant we could enjoy outside more and play yard games. We plan to stay here again!

The property was amazing. The grounds were beautiful with a stunning view. There was everything you could ask for in a kitchen for cooking, baking and plenty of spices to choose from. They had an extensive collection of games. There was no reason to leave the property. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend stay. Michael was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. The property was only a 16 minute walk to one of the lookouts and it was a very pleasant walk. I would most definitely recommend.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway!

We had an amazing time! The home was beautiful and accommodated our large party very well. You can't beat the view! Sitting around the fire pit on the deck with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and taking in the scenery and the peace and quiet was such a treat. We enjoyed exploring around the property and even got to play in the snow. The home was so well stocked. Everything was set up so nice and welcoming. Would definitely go back!! Only drawback was that the wifi wasn't great.

Spectacular views and solitude

Our stay at this property was fantastic and relaxing. The property is large enough to take strolls around the ponds and running streams. Michael was very communicative from the moment we first got in touch and took the time to really answer any questions that we had. The one issue we had was that the jacuzzi was not working upon our arrival however Michael made it a point to make it right by us and I really appreciated that. Will definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.

Living in San Diego, we have many options for recreation, but there is nothing like getting up in the mountains and seeing the natural beauty of 100+ year old oak trees, observing the wildlife, playing in the snow in winter, and enjoying the undeveloped, majestic beauty of the Palomar Mountain State Park and Cleveland National Forest. We love it here on Palomar Mountain.

Why they chose this property

Palomar Vista Lodge was previously known as Celestial Gardens. A wonderful woman lived here and she had made every effort to enjoy and share with others the natural beauty of the property, including developing hiking trails, view points, and relaxing seating areas that showcased its wonderful character. We have tried to rekindle Colleen's spirit and vision for Palomar Vista Lodge, and our friends find it to be a true island in the sky, where your worries float away and your spirits are invigorated.

What makes this property unique

We love the southern views, the large deck out back, the peace and quiet of a mountain home nestled amongst the trees, and the beauty of the wildlife we see on a daily basis. The home is large enough for multiple families, yet still feels comfortable and offers many options. Multiple decks, hammocks on the lawn and swinging from the oak trees, plenty of places to relax and unwind.
