Perfect place for a relaxing stay in an isolated cabin in the mountains surrounded by nature. The view from the porch and living room is an inspiration to read books with a fantastic view on the mountains. Especially after a nice sauna. Great place.
Overall, had a great time at the cabin. Remote location with a few houses nearby. Beds hadn't been changed and pillow was filthy. Previous renters blankets were piled up in laundry room and toilet in shower room became clogged on first day. Overall, the place was clean and kitchen was modern and fully equipped. Price was reasonable and would stay again. Would hope that next time the linens and pillows would be replaced.

Oh my goodness, the cleaner didn’t come??? I am so sorry ! I wondered if something has happened to her. She didn’t respond when i have her your dates. We always get good review s on cleaners. I will follow up immediately
The cabin was everything we had hoped for. The view is stunning the stars at night are like you dream about seeing. The cabin and area were very clean and quiet (with a capital Q) Deer and turkeys in the yard almost every day.The only down part is the 30 min. drive to get milk or gas, but the drive to Canon City is one of the most beautiful drives you will ever take. Great trip hope to come back soon.
Our family had a nice and relaxing time at this cabin, which was clean, cozy and comfortable. It is quite remote with a 15-mile drive on a curvy dirt road, so it's good to arrive in daylight. We did have trouble accessing the wi-fi but loved the mountain views and enjoyed the quiet get-away. We were able to cook family meals in the updated kitchen but should have brought some foil.
Our family had a great time spending Thanksgiving in the cabin. It was it was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing family holiday. The mountain scenery was beautiful. There were friendly deer everywhere, which looked so beautiful in the snow. The communication was great with the host and she was very responsive with every question we asked. The sauna was a huge plus. We did get snowed in for 4 days and lost electric electricity for one full day (everyone on the mountain lost electricity), but the gas stove at the gas heating worked great. Luckily we brought chains for our tires (per recommendation on VRBO listing) because we did need them to get off the mountain. (We have a Honda pilot with front wheel drive/no snow tires.) Overall our stay was wonderful and we will definitely come back again.
Nice Roomy Cabin with great view of the Sangra

Disliked: Location
Middle of know where.
About 30min of westcliffe. Quiet for your recovery. Good rooms and beds. Solid intranets and build. Follow the specific instructions given and you will get there. Was perfect for climbing downtime.
It was as though it was our home … the location is good and the scenery is breathtaking.. the nature animals visited us daily and the snow was fantastic
The listing is not accurate, it says it’s 20 minutes from Cañon City which is a lie, it’s 50 minutes. We wanted to stay here so we could go see the royal gorge bridge but after realizing it would be over an hour drive each way we questioned why would we stay here and spend most of our time driving. Beware of this and consider it when you see the misleading listing.

Hello, we are 35 minutes to canon city, and 50 minutes to the Royal Gorge theme park. Im not sure where you saw this other information. I will go in and check if there is anything misleading, but everything I’ve seen on the site is accurate.
We stayed here for a weekend family getaway. Great location, secluded, beautiful views and start gazing. We were met by deer out front our first morning, sadly they did not appear too fearful of people so letting our dog outside was a little tough. Overall a great place for any nature lover.
We stayed 2 nights on our way to Aspen. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the porch and sauna. If this cabin is one of your options, you won’t be disappointed.
We go to Colorado every year. This year we couldn’t stay with my mom, because her new home wasn’t complete in time. We wanted something off the beaten path, and this fit the bill exactly. Beware though if you value cell service, but the WiFi helped alot. The owner was receptive to all of my questions. Overall it was a great stay. The view was amazing.

Relaxing and great view
Everything was as shown in the website. Cabin was very comfortable and relaxing.
Kitchen and living room space was very nice to cook our own meals and sit and talk.
Only issue was a dead mouse in the toilet one morning.

Thank you for coming and enjoying the mountains and nature. We feel the same way every time we go to the cabin. We relax. It's quiet, with beautiful surroundings and sometimes you see deer and elk on our property. Every so often we do find little critters who make their way in as well. That's to be expected in the mountains.
This VRBO was nice. The cabin itself was clean and had all the necessities. Definately print the directions beforehand because service is spotty at best. The sauna was great & the owner was very nice and pretty responsive. It was not as secluded as I thought it would be as there are neighbor's close enough to hear. But for the most part it was a nice relaxing weekend with nice sights and wildlife.
Didn’t even stay there! Arrived after 10-15 miles of unpaved mountain roads I would not have wanted to be on in the rain or the dark. I do not care to stay off the beaten path, but this was a bit much! Listing pictures must have been photoshopped. WiFi didn’t work even though check in instructions said I should “just be able to come on, no password”. Contacted owner to let them know I would not be staying and to see if I could get some sort of discount. That question was never answered! I was told “I should just go back to the cabin, it’s a nice place.” Wasted money!

I do need to respond to this renter, all information on roads was send clearly and my cleaners went right up to check out things and I have pictures to show that the guest with the WiFi code was in plain view. The renter tried fri the router which dues not have the pass code. I’m sorry but we always get 5 star ratings. There is a property manager phone number in plain view. They could have called. We follow the cancellation policy.
This was an amazingly clean and nice place to stay. It is somewhat remote and charming in its upkeep. The kitchen had condiments as well as a gas stove. It worked out great since there was a fire ban in effect during our stay. TnHere is also a laundry room. Things to note: neighbor across the way has a dog and if you are sitting on the porch he will bark at the sound of your voice. In the booklet it states there is a horse shoe pit and game but there is not. And in the book it talks about hiking up the hill to add a stone to the chair at the top of the mt. There is no chair. Other than that, there is a remarkable sauna. Extremely clean and well kept. There is a master suite with a huge shower. The main bathroom is quite large as well. If you fancy fishing lake Dewees is about 30 minutes away. Great fishing in the evening. We caught many. The town of westcliff is a wonderful experience as well. The owners of the cabin are amazingly accommodating and wonderful at communication.

About the host
Hosted by Kimberly Reed
We are a family currently living on both sides of the Atlantic. We have lived in Boston, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Denver. But our favorite place in the world is the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountain range in southcentral Colorado. We are 'outdoor people' - love to hike with our dogs, take beautiful photos of nature, canoe on a lake or river, cross-country ski through a forest. And at the end of the day, take the time to cook a gourmet meal together and enjoy a nice glass of wine. We are also voracious readers and love board games.
Why they chose this property
The cabin was love at first sight. We are not Club Med or Hilton Hotel people. But we are nature/peace and quiet people. This rustic log cabin was barely visible from the road, hidden by pines, nestled into the side of a hill. It sits up higher than all of the other properties around it. With huge windows on three sides of the Great Room, you have commanding views of Locke Mountain/San Isabel National Forest and the Sangre de Cristos. We also value 'quiet' - living in, or near, a large city for most of our lives, it is nice to be in at a place where you actually hear nothing but the gentle breeze through the pinion pines, an occasion bird chirping, the braying of the neighbors donkey. Often, ou hear nothing at all. A car passes maybe once or twice an hour - and even then, it is 400 yards away, and down a hill. We chose this cabin as a perfect get-away for ourselves, never thinking that we would rent it out to others. The only reason we are not in Denver now enjoying our cabin is because of job opportunities abroad in Sweden. This cabin is perfect year-round (provided you have a good 4-wheel drive vehicle in the snowy months, or chains on your tires).
What makes this property unique
For nature-lovers, hunters and fly-fishermen on the Arkansas River (17 miles from the property) peaceful and majestic mountain views. Sauna, Relaxing , away from all noise, cooking and enjoying friends on the deck. Simple with no distractions, yet having everything you need - a full bath, fully equipped kitchen, well-appointed great room and three bedrooms. Because our 11 acres is fairly secluded, you can even enjoy skeet and target shooting on the Northeast corner of the property. We are only 500 yards across a valley from the San Isabel National forest. We are a 20 minute drive to the quaint town of Westcliffe with some great restaurants and great for art enthusiasts and shopping.
