About this property
Mandarin Escape · Rooftop Deck, Hot Tub, Views
Summary:
Sunrise at Mandarin Escape is best watched from the large raised deck, high in Yucca Valley's quiet Western Hills Estates, 10 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree and 15 from Pappy and Harriet's. Grill lunch, sink into the hot tub tucked into the boulders, and gather around the fire pit at sundown, with two seasonal cowboy tubs for warm days, unavailable November through March. Inside this 2,000 sq ft home, sunset colors, a record player, two themed bedrooms and a secret jungle cubby keep it fun.
The Space:
Mandarin Escape is a retro-inspired, 2,000 sq ft two-bedroom home on a hilltop in the Western Hills Estates neighborhood of Yucca Valley, about 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park and Pioneertown. Its large raised deck has miles of views in every direction, and downstairs a covered patio leads to a hot tub in the boulders and two cowboy tubs. Inside, a big bay of windows lights a warm, groovy living area. It suits couples and small groups.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The large raised deck has miles of views in every direction, with sunrises and sunsets to match. Grill on the propane BBQ and eat at the outdoor dining table, read on the daybed, catch some sun on the lounge chairs or gather around the fire pit. It is a great spot for yoga, too. Downstairs, the covered patio offers shade with the same views and leads to the private hot tub, two cowboy tubs and more lounge chairs. The cowboy tubs are not an in-ground pool and are closed November through March. A table and chairs sit up on the private hill of boulders for views farther out. The yard is not fully fenced.
-Living Area-
A big bay of windows fills the warm, retro living area with light and desert views. Sink into the beanbag chairs with your morning coffee or gather on the large couch for a movie. A record player and records, a guitar, board games and fun retro accessories for photos are on hand.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully equipped kitchen has spacious countertops, double ovens, a KitchenAid mixer, a Café drip coffee maker, a Smeg toaster and plenty of pots, pans, utensils, baking trays and serving dishes. Eat at the oval indoor table for six or at the deck dining table with views.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Both bedrooms are spacious, each with a queen bed, blackout curtains, ample closet space, a desk and a private seating area. The Grapefruit Room is done in warm pinks, and the primary has a private patio. The Lemon Room is filled with mustard yellows, with a couch for watching TV and the home's secret jungle cubby.
