Nice location for family gathering

Perfect location for a family get together. Away from the hustle bustle, but close enough to restaurants and stores. House is clean, spacious and the pool is well maintained.

In theory, this is a fantastic place to stay. Wonderful property, great amenities, private location. The issue is in the condition of the house itself. One of the first things that greeted us was 4 overflowing trash bins outside, ransacked by animals. Walking inside we immediately found that the house had many things that are half finished. Trim work missing, paint incomplete and hazardous problems all over (sliding screen doors coming off the tracks, door handles falling off, electrical wires hanging loose under the deck). The overall cleanliness of the home was mediocre at best. Scuffs/smudges on walls everywhere, random bath mats on the couch upon arrival and no towels in any of the bathrooms - found them all in a closet upstairs. The pool drained overnight to the point that we had to message someone to come address it, because the pump wouldn’t stop running. The pool toys were scattered around with grass growing between, bird poop covering all the chairs and home siding in a pile below the deck. Additionally, we were not sent check in or check out instructions. I had to send a message requesting both. Another requesting WiFi info. Net net, this place has potential, and would warrant the money. But it’s not there yet and needs to be cleaned up/finished properly. I would not recommend spending the nightly rate for this house and instead, look at alternative options. It really felt like this is someone’s primary home, not set up as a rental property.
