House is spacious and well equipped for a big family group in a fabulous location within two minutes walking distance of Carrowmore harbour and five minutes walk from Carrowmore beach. 5 minute drive to Louisbourgh. Stunning views. Lovely large safe garden for kids play.

Great Location lovely house

Had a great week in perfectly appointed setting. Fantastic views across the bay and a short stroll to a beautiful sandy beach. We loved swimming and surfing in the sea. Lovely Louisburg town is just down the road and handy for provisions. Would recommend the ferry ride and day on Clare Island too.

Perfect family escape

Clew Bay House is a perfect base for any family intending to enjoy all that South-West Mayo has to offer. The open plan ground floor layout is super for relaxing together after a day of hiking, surfing, beach walking, or whatever outdoor pursuits you choose. The large kitchen is well kitted out, perfect for preparing meals to be shared at the large dining table. Plenty of space to chill upstairs in the lounge, with a super deck/balcony to sit out and watch the sunset. Great garden overlooking Carrowmore beach (also great for pier jumping), only a 3 minute walk to the beach. Couldn’t ask for more.

This house is in need of an upgrade -better maintenance and cleaning. On arrival the windows/doors at the rear of the house were dirty (cobwebs on window frames)-I had to clean them, The bath mat in the bathroom (white) was covered in streaks of black (paint)-unsightly .The cistern in the downstairs toilet didn't refill properly-problematic as it is the only toilet on ground floor. We contacted the owner who sent a maintenance man the following day. He then brought a plumber the following day. Unfortunately despite their works the toilet did not function properly.Another problem arose when we noticed a leak (from the adjoining chimney) in a downstairs bedroom which wet a portion of the wall and caused a high degree of humidity - we contacted the owner who sent a roofer around to look at the problem. No works to the roof were carried out while we were there.I advised the owner that the house should not have been let and that we should be entitled to compensation. She claimed that as we had more people staying in the house than we had advised, she would let us off the extra payment owing for them as compensation. I consider her response to be unsatisfactory and dismissive of our inconvenience. At the time of booking I knew that a certain number of family members were free to accompany us and listed them. When two others became free to join later I completely forgot to inform the owner-she used this against us. I wouldn't recommend doing business with her.Given the issues

Our summer holiday 2022 at Clew Bay House

Clew Bay House is really to be recommended. A great location with a view of the sea and many excursion possibilities nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks also to Caroline who takes great care of the house and keeps it clean.

Fantastic location

Only a few minutes walk from the beach and a short cycle to Louisburgh. Seamless check in and check out. Fantastic location, beautiful views from the deck and the end of the garden.

Louisburgh staycation

We had a great stay in Louisburgh, the house was fabulous and the location was even better. The views from the house across clew bay down to Clare island were magnificent and the house has plenty of space and a great dining table in the kitchen area.
