The property was fun, decorated cute. You are close to downtown. We enjoyed the back porch and back yard. It is a older house. Also a great place for dog lovers.

The house was very clean, and the check-in process was easy and convenient. Overall, the property was well maintained and comfortable.We were in town for my cousin’s wedding, so we spent most of our time away from the house. The host promptly accommodated our request for an iron and ironing board.One thing to note is that the house has a strong aroma reminiscent of Chinese herbal medicine. The scent was quite noticeable throughout our stay and may not be familiar or comfortable for everyone. Aside from that, we had a pleasant experience.

This is a lovely home. The decor was nice. It had all the amenities. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the back patio and sunroom too. Next time we’re in Des Moines, we want to stay at this house.

Property and the house were very lovely and cozy. My 14 year old granddaughter loved staying in the loft bedroom. My adult son stayed in the master bedroom which was perfect for him since he's disabled. He's tall so the bed was high enough that he would be able to get on and off the bed with no problems. I stayed in the second bedroom and wasn't sure about the fold out love seat. It was kind of sunk in but once I fell asleep I slept all night. The instructions and communication was simple to understand. We stayed for the Galaxy Con which wasn't far from there and easy to drive to. It was our 1st time in Des Moines and we had a very good all around time.

Lisa's place is perfect for a small group. It has a quaint and cozy, cottage-like feel. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood very near Des Moines. Her place is very homey, and filled with fun and eclectic decor that I would guess are from her travels. She has a living room full of houseplants which I loved. Bathroom was small, but she had some shelving to help with space. We did utilize the basement bathroom and it works fine, but be prepared that it is fairly open and the toilet is obscurred only by a privacy screen. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There weren't a lot of towels, but we could do wash if we ran low (we were only there for a quick weekend and not everyone showered so we didn't run short). The 2nd downstairs bedroom was really more of an office with and overstuffed chair that could double as a pull out twin bed. There are shelves full of interesting books and I could easily be tempted to stay again just to sit in the quaint screen porch and read books! The upstairs is just a bedroom and it was pretty hot, but the window unit AC took care of that fairly quickly. And one final plus....her check out instructions are the easiest and best I have ever seen...1) don't forget your things and 2) have a safe trip home!

We flew in for a quick weekend having never been to Iowa before. The house is close to the airport, but in a quiet neighborhood. Close to all of the downtown sights and an easy drive to Fort Dodge. It is a beautifully restored home with eclectic decor and amazing houseplants. We were actually able to relax with what little time we had here. 10/10, would recommend. I wish we would’ve had our golden doodle with us, because he would have loved it too!

Just what we needed

We were in town for a soccer tournament and the house was perfect for us to relax and unwind in between games. Lisa was very responsive and the house was clean and well stocked. Across the street from the house is a school that had basketball hoops and soccer fields which were great for passing time. We will definitely stay here again.

Easy communication with owner, very clean place and located nicely -- quiet neighborhood, but still close proximity to restaurant / downtown areas. Perfect for a weekend getaway. As noted in a previous review it probably should be revealed up front that the owner may be there in a downstairs living space. They werent when we were there, but it was noted in the welcome packet that it might be the case.

Beautiful

This was the perfect place to stay for my family close to town very quiet friendly neighborhood beautiful property! Lisa was very communicative and very helpful while we were there! The only thing I would add is that if you are allergic to dogs she does bring her dog to the property there is dog hair on the carpet luckily I had brought my allergy medicine so it wasn't too big of an issue!
