Hello Nick. Thank you for staying at Mountain Jewel. We are very happy that you loved this deluxe property. We do have lots of people who book at Silver Star who want to use the property for a "base" for exploring Vernon and the local area - as it is only 25 minutes to beaches, golf courses, wineries, the city, etc. The advantage is that it is a very comfortable 10 degrees cooler than the sweltering valley, and the summer rates are significantly lower than comparable properties in the Valley during the summer peak season. Additionally there are lots of activities up at Silver Star if you wanted to relax and enjoy yourself in this mountain environment. Very popular for family reunions, weddings and other events. In addition to mountain biking, there is cross country biking (for those of us who enjoy biking, but not down hill), hiking, strolling through the village, disc golf, kids summer tubing, horse back riding, etc. Our advantage here is that is also only a 25 minute drive via a well maintained residential road to the city, so everything is close by. We do hope you will return again and possibly come in the winter - as it is a true winter wonderland up here. Thanks again for your booking and taking the time to post a review. Much appreciated. Thanks for leaving a review, Dee. The address and location is correct on VRBO but it would be the way the map shows the property, although there is a fantastic free shuttle from The Ridge to the village and the ski in/out is pretty awesome!

I still can't believe the car rental companies are renting out vehicles with summer tires when it is illegal to drive without winter tires - for the obvious reasons you stated.
