Absolutely beautiful. The cabin had everything one could need. If you forgot something, they have it. The hosts had fresh milk in the fridge, fresh muffins out in the counter and other breakfast items. Bed was very comfortable. Hosts were attentive. While we did not get to enjoy outdoor area like planned, again, they have everything you could possibly need. Soo peaceful out there! Thank you for the experience.

It was a pleasure hosting Saralyn and James for several nights. They left everything clean and had great communication throughout their reservation. We highly recommend them to other hosts!
This was the best vacation home I have ever stayed in, the amount of attention to detail that Marlene and Trent have put into making sure their guests are comfortable is unbelievable!! The space is beautifully decorated and so serene, indoors and out. The ATV tour of their property at sunset was magical, bluff views, river access, 1800’s cemetery, pastures filled with deer playing, it was the best! I will be recommending to everyone that they visit if they want a quiet escape. Also close to state parks for hiking and we did a float trip while we were there as well.

This place is so totally awesome! Beautifully decorated in a peaceful setting. We were secluded, had an awesome outdoor area where we spent all our time. There's a bird feeder set up and we really enjoyed watching the birds. We also saw a mama deer with her baby fawn. Very relaxing and enjoyable. The host's have gone all out and provided so many thoughtful things. Will definitely stay there again.
This host is 100% the best we've ever encountered (and we've encountered a lot). The cabin reflects a refined sense of style and attention to detail, with modern conveniences that checks any -- and every -- box you might have. Highly recommended.
Marlene went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The cabin was fresh, clean, and fully stocked with anything you might need to be comfortable. I felt at ease the whole time. The attention to detail was beyond expectation. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

We could just say "Perfection!" and that would sum it up! But to go on, this is by far THE best "by owner" rental experience we have ever had! We loved everything about our stay. There were so many thoughtful extras and amenities included in our luxury stay. Trent and Marlene were amazing! We definitely recommend doing the ATV tour of the farm if offered. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it and I got some great pictures too. If you have any doubts, go ahead, book the trip, you won't regret it!
We pulled up to the property and could not believe the breathtaking views and cutest little cabin we have ever seen. The landscaping, the lights, the seating outside was quaint, romantic, and beautiful.
The inside of the cottage is pristine. The owners left birthday card for my husband, a welcome sign on a chalkboard and an array of perfection. The little extras were off the chart. I highly recommend this location to anybody looking for a getaway.

This property is top notch. I actually ended up just trying to find something that could have been improved. Nothing. Everything was above and beyond. As someone in the hospitality industry, I was extremely impressed. Property owners should take notes from these guys. I even left with some takeaway ideas myself. Bravo 👏👏👏
Stunning is the word that comes to mind about the cabin, and the forest that it occupies. Luxury is an understatement! The second that we walked into the door, we felt all of the stress from day to day life melt away. Walking around the property and sitting around the fire reminded us how important it is to take the time to catch up, reminisce and laugh with each other. Marlene and Trent thought of every single detail. We definitely plan on making it one of our regular get aways. Thank you both.
My family had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! This cabin is a perfect place for families with kids — and how exceptional greeting the host was. From the moment I booked, the host was incredibly responsive and welcoming, providing fishing spots for my grandson to go for his first trout fishing experience. Plenty of snacks and he loved the smores kit! The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and surprisingly spacious, and a great outdoor area. This wasn’t just a stay — it felt like a home away from home, thanks to a host who clearly cares about making every guest feel comfortable and welcome. Lastly, the check-in process and communication were flawless. We’d come back in a heartbeat and plan to on our next trip to this area!! :-)
My wife and I wanted to getaway and disconnect for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. This cozy cabin was absolutely PERFECT!! This place has everything you need inside from a stocked kitchen and refrigerator to beautifully landscaped lounging area outside complete with a variety of chairs to gather around the fire pit or just look up at the stars. Then to top it off, our hosts Marlene and Trent are unbelievable! They decorated with various surprises (notes, choc. strawberries, wine, flowers and even special gluten free food ... say what!) that really made us feel welcomed! Marlene checked on us a couple times and promptly answered any questions we had. This was a truly special little getaway! 5 Stars is not enough!
We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this beautiful cabin in Richland, MO, to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the host went above and beyond to make our stay special—there were rose petals on the bed, a personalized message wishing us a happy anniversary, and thoughtful touches throughout the cabin that made us feel so welcome.
The cabin is tucked away in the woods on a peaceful farm, offering the perfect escape. It’s newly renovated and in immaculate condition, fully furnished with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The outdoor fire pit and entertainment area, along with the spacious deck, were ideal for relaxing and enjoying the serene surroundings.
The host was extremely responsive and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. We highly recommend this cabin and can't wait to return for future celebrations or just to unwind!
This cabin was perfect! I can not think of any negatives about our stay here. The owners have put a lot of time and love into this place-- both inside and outside! They have thought through every detail to make their guests feel at home and to make sure they have what they need (full length light up mirror, comfy beds and pillows, extra blankets, stocked bathroom, charging cord, plethora of outlets, coffee and tea station, drinks and snacks, breakfast items, even a guitar!) The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make several meals. If we would have been able to stay one more day, we would have enjoyed steak on the grill and sat around the fire pit and made s'mores (they include a store kit!). If we find ourselves back in the area, we will stay 2-3 days! it was that relaxing! Oh and to top it off, they gave us a tour of the property! We saw some incredible views and were lucky enough to see 16 deer. :)
We are Trent and Marlene, your hosts of the Arbor Cabin. We have spent two summers building, landscaping, and upgrading this Cabin, built in 2009. A few years ago, in California, we hosted a cottage in our backyard for almost 4 years and loved meeting people from all over the world! Then, in 2022, our family's farm in Missouri needed management. We decided to move here and transform this little cabin on the property into what you see today! We love hosting and are excited to offer our guests this beautiful cabin as well as access to the river for fishing, swimming, rafting, and kayaking.
Why they chose this property
For 45 years, my family has had this farm property of over 500 acres. This property is on a quiet country road and only 3 miles from Route 66 and I-44, between St. Louis and Springfield. We enjoy the easy access to the Interstate and living in the country with its quiet beauty.
What makes this property unique
The property has an array of features that include rocky cliffs, historical cemetery, 1928 Grain Silo, forests, waterfall, fields, an abandoned trucks and antique farm equipment. The Gasconade River surrounds our property. River access is available upon request - host will give you a tour and show you access. (Access is subject to weather conditions and flooding).
