If you're looking for a typical hotel stay, move on. This place probably isn't for you. BUT if you want to stay in a true, small-town historic hotel with a bar downstair (BONUS) this IS the place to book - read on, friends!I grew up a few in Lafayette County (where this is located) and had a stressful appointment the morning after we stayed here. I forgot ALL about that because I had such a good time - it was just what I needed! Rachel and Ray are epic hosts and our bartender downstairs was first rate! I'm sorry to her, but I am horrible with names - I believe it was Callie or Carlie? At any rate, she was the bomb - an honest to goodness, read your mind, Wisconsin bartender. She knew what I wanted before I did.Loved the old building vibes - original woodwork, huge windows, tall ceilings and creaky floors that reminded me of the old house I grew up in.And the bedding! OH MY! So comfortable with luxurious linens and THE best pillows that I wanted to steal (but I didn't, of course). I need to find out where the owners bought them because I want some. There are two hotel rooms that share a bathroom, which we didn't mind at all. Someone was staying in the other room, but sharing the facilities was not an issue. Beautiful shower and clean, clean, clean. Needless to say, two thumbs up and 5 stars from us - I hope to get back and stay with these friendly folks again!
