The Cabin at the Falls is located on 145 beautiful acres in the Ozarks. Spend your time relaxing on the porch or around the fire pit, or enjoy hiking the trails on the property. These trails range from moderate to hard, and are marked with signs. VERY IMPORTANT: If you open a gate, close it! There is livestock on the property!
In the winter, bald eagles can be spotted in the trees along the northern ridge, or circling in the skies above and around the cabin.
The lands around the cabin were once home to the Osage Indians. Artifacts from their era have been found nearby, including arrow heads and grinding stones. Some found right on this property, near the cabin.
We discovered the peaceful setting the cabin sits on not long after purchasing the property. We loved the little stream that ended in a double waterfall, and immediately knew that this was a special place, a place we could envision our family enjoying. We quickly realized that others would love spending time here, too, and so, the idea of a cabin was born. We began researching and planning, and in June of 2023, we started clearing the hillside where the cabin would sit. It was our desire to utilize local materials in the construction. Much of the timber, especially the cedar, was harvested from our own land, milled at a local Amish sawmill. The walnut used to create the beautiful kitchen counter tops came from a large tree on the property that was brought down during a storm. The cabinets were built from walnut that had been harvested off a farm near Powell, MO using a team of mules, over 130 years ago. The tin used on the walls and ceiling came from a 100+ year old barn from a nearby farm in Pea Ridge, AR. The stone for the fire pit was dug out from the ground where the cabin now sits. There is so much history in our little cabin, and the area around it. It is our desire that you enjoy our cabin as much as we do!
