Apartment with stunning views over Tropea & great infinity pool

With breathtaking views, the apartment is part of the Marasusa holiday village, the ideal base for families and couples. Perched on the top of a hill in Paraghelia (3 min. drive to Tropea) overlooking the old town of Tropea you can sit on the balcony of the apartment and witness panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Aeolian Islands and a breathtaking sunset. Many regard Tropea as Italy’s best kept secret, no wonder the Sunday Times named it as its top beach holiday destination. The apartment offers a relaxing oasis of peace set amongst beautiful flowers and plants but you are still only just a few minutes away from the sandy beaches, restaurants, bars and bustling narrow streets of Tropea. Facilities include a beautiful shared infinity swimming pool, jacuzzi, shallow pool area for children, sun beds and showers.

The apartment is located on the first floor in a quiet area of the Marasusa Complex with beautiful gardens in front of the private apartment balcony. Sit on the balcony, looking out to sea and witness the most amazing sunsets.

Inside, the apartment has a lounge area with fully equipped modern kitchen, double sofa bed, TV, DVD player and stereo. The kitchen has a large fridge with small freezer, cooker hob and indoor eating area.

There is a separate double bedroom with single beds that can also be made up as a double if required. A travel cot can be provided if required.

The apartment is air conditioned and sleeps up to 4 people.

It is 1.5km into the village centre of Parghelia where there are several small supermarkets, several restaurants and coffee shops, a pharmacy, post office, park etc. Tropea with lots and lots of restaurants and amenities is less than 4km away.

Regarding beaches Parghelia (the village at the bottom of the hill) has its own fantastic little hidden beach and in total this is just over 1.5km away from the apartment. This beach is called Michelino and has been voted the third most beautiful beach in Italy. If you want a bigger beach with water sports, boat hire and a couple of restaurants then Shark Bay (there are no sharks!!) is 2.5km away. The world famous Tropea beach is 3.5km from the apartment. There is easy parking at all of these beaches.

You need a car.

Things to do:
•The Lipari or Aeolian Islands -Several firms offer excursions to the Lipari Islands, also known as the Aeolian Islands, which include the volcanic island of Stromboli.
•Diving and snorkelling - Calabria offers one of the best diving areas in the Italian Mediterranean. This is mainly due to the geological characteristics typical of the diving areas south of Tropea. The marina has several diving schools.
•Sailing & Windsurfing - Again there are schools in Tropea with courses which include catamaran-sailing and windsurfing for beginners as well as for advanced students.
•Fishing - There are numerous companies offering deep sea fishing trips.
•History and Culture - Calabria is a region of ancient Mediterranean culture and it is the place from which Italy derives its name. Accordingly there any many historical buildings and sites to visit in the region. Walking Holidays - Calabria is an area of outstanding national beauty and has not only beautiful beaches but beautiful mountains.

Excellent experience

We have spent a wonderful holiday. There were 4 adults and we found everything we needed. Location is really nice, the view from the terrace is fantastic and we enjoyed wonderful sunsets. It is very convenient to easily reach the sea and all the awesome beaches coast of the gods. We abolutely recommend it

What a view!

What an amazing place this is. We had a week with the four of us in the apartment and loved every second. The apartment itself is fairly small but absolutely fine for two adults and two boys on the sofa bed. Kitchen had a gas hob, microwave and toaster for cooking along with a large fridge / freezer. We cooked almost all our meals in the apartment and had no issues at all. Shower room was good with a boiler for hot water that worked well with good water pressure. The living room had AC and we found it cooled the whole apartment down nicely. The grounds were lovely, very well maintained and a large shaded car park just outside the complex. The swimming pool was fantastic. It was surrounded by sun loungers and had three different pools linked together with different depths, perfect for everyone. Was so warm it was like a bath. Also had a large jacuzzi pool which you could sit in and enjoy the view. The view! I can’t do it justice. We ate all our meals in the apartment because the view from the balcony wouldn’t be beaten anywhere. You had the postcard view of Tropea with Stromboli in the distance. We spent hours on the balcony after the kids were in bed, relaxing and enjoying our surroundings. Loved our stay here.

A great apartment with stunning views

Great little apartment on an extremely well maintained complex. It had a great balcony with sea and pool views where we watched the sunset every night-what a treat! We were a party of 4- 2 teenage boys shared the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the sofa bed. It was very comfortable and we slept really well. If I was to be really picky I would say the pain was, apart from having no wifi all week, having to pick the key up half an hour away. I didn’t read the instructions properly (my fault!) and we had to drive back half an hour to a town we had already passed to pick up the key and it was really difficult to find, but the management company were really helpful and met us in a car park. The apartment complex is well situated for trips to several amazing beaches-Tropea and Groticelle were particularly lovely, but you do need a car. The complex is up a steep mountain/hill with some impressive hairpin bends!

Gepflegtes Objekt, schon ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen aber Toplage und sehr guter Agenturservice. Im Mai noch recht kühle Nächte . Dünne Decken und sehr eingeschränkte Heizmöglichkeit. ( Klimaanlage im Wohnzimmer).

Fantastic view looking over Tropea

We had a lovely time and loved sitting on the balcony and by the pool watching the sunsets/reading our books. The site and pool area is very well maintained. We had a few suggestions which we have shared with the owners. It’s a very comfortable apartment for 2 people.

Eine schöne Landschaft

Eine schöne Wohnanlage mit einem sehr gepflegten Garten. Die Wohnung bietet ausreichend Platz für 2 Personen (es könnten aber noch zusätzlich 2 auf dem Sofa im Wohnzimmer schlafen). Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist sehr idyllisch. Einziger Nachteil, ohne eigenes Auto ist die Wohnanlage zu weit vom Meer entfernt und es gibt kein WLAN (nicht zwingend erforderlich aber heutzutage schon als Nachteil zu werten)

The best holiday ever!!!

As soon as I enquired about the property the service was excellent. The owners were very quick to respond, the booking process was simple and their local agents very knowledgeable and helpful. I believe they really do wish to ensure guests have a great holiday, hence as I indicated in the feedback to them, I will be back!!! Tropea was a fantastic holiday destination and Marasusa was a great place to enjoy all that was on offer. The apartment had fantastic views and the best sunsets we have ever seen. Inside the apartment it was modern (especially compared to some others we saw) and had everything we needed. I don’t normally write reviews but as this was the best holiday we have ever had I thought I should make the effort to do so.

Just Perfect

I did use the words in the title of my email lightly. We have traveled extensively but this was probably the best holiday we have ever had and everything was ‘just perfect’. Thank you so much for letting us stay in you lovely apartment. The location is breathtaking, with beautiful maintained gardens, a fantastic swimming pool, sea views and the best sunsets we have ever witnessed. In many ways it was like going back in time with the village of Parghelia very rustic and the people so friendly. The kids would have preferred there to be Wifi onsite but it was quite nice not to have it and it was a good excuse to pop to the American Bar at the bottom of the hill to use the wifi and have a cappuccino for EUR 1.50! Although small the apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the sun set. Our children made friends with other children and as the area is safe, they could play freely which took the pressure off of us. We would definitely return.

Beautiful location, too small for 5 people.

The location is beautiful, with a nice view over Tropea and the sea. The flat is part of a small residence with swimming pool, Car is mandatory, since the location is far away from any service. The flat is too small for 5 people, we were a family with 3 kids. The kitchen and some furnitures were not properly cleaned, owner and local agent are very kind.

Beautifull view at Tropea

We liked the apartment very much , the vuew was awesome and we saw many sunset with Stromboli at theback. Marasusa is a nice resort you have to drive 1.3 km steep uphill. We walked several times up and down the mountain and we liked the black pigs during our walk. Tropea is very nice you have a lot of restaurants and the antipadtas are very nice. The apartment had almost everything we need. Very nice beds but we missed a coffee machine or something Italian to make coffee. The pool was very nice and clean . Paraghia is a very nice town and every morning we stopped for a cappuccino at the American Bar meanwhile we checked our email because they have free Wifi. All together if was a splendid time.

The best scenery I have ever experienced!

The booking team were a great help, the apartment was efficiently kitted out, clean and spacious. The pool was probably the best domestic pool I've seen with a kids area, a lounging "jacuzzi" area and a nice deep end. The best thing by far were the amazing views, sunsets and scenic beaches. I'd have no hesitation to recommend Marasusa in Tropea!

Vue surperbe sur la baie de Tropea

Appartement situé sur les hauteurs, dans une résidence avec une jolie piscine (grand bassin et bassin pour les enfants). L'appartement est très propre et fonctionnel tout à fait conforme à l'annonce. Nous y avons passé un séjour très agréable (1 adulte, 2 ados, 1 enfant) en alternant piscine, plage et tourisme. Un véhicule est indispensable ! Nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de sympathie et nos contacts étaient toujours disponibles et réactifs à la moindre de nos requêtes. Nous recommandons vivement cette location.

Beautiful location and fantastic property!

I would like to say a massive thank you to the owners of this property for such an enjoyable week! Upon arrival we were made to feel at home by the local staff and given some useful tips about the local area. The on site swimming pool was clean and well maintained as were the gardens and grounds. Our apartment was perfect, with a balcony viewing looking out to Stromboli making for a great breakfast spot! I would highly recommend this property and Tropea in general for a relaxing beach holiday with rustic appeal. We spent the majority of our evenings eating out in Tropea, with an abundance of traditional Italian restaurants making us wish we had booked an extra week! The beaches were beautiful and after renting a boat for the day from Shark Bay we could track the coastline taking in the stunning Calabrian scenery. Thank you for a brilliant week in the sun and we hope to return soon!

Wunderschöne Anlage

Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsenen (25.06.-09.07.2010) in der Ferienanlage. Es ist eine wunderschöne Anlage mit herrlichem Blick und schöner Pool-Anlage. Auch im Umfeld in Parghelia und Tropea ist es wunderschön. Meer und Strand sind genial. Der richtige Ort zum entspannen. Der kleine Haken ist im Text die 2 Schlafzimmer. Es handelt sich dabei um 1 Schlafzimmer und 1 Schlafcouch im Wohnzimmer. Sehr netter Kontakt zum Vermieter. Danke

Holiday Heaven

As soon as I enquired about the property the service I received was first class. The owners were very quick to respond to any question we had, the booking process was simple and they even supplied photo directions on how to get to the apartment. Firstly the apartment, although not huge had everything we needed, was modern inside and in a fantastic location with stunning views. I loved sitting outside of the apartment of an evening and watch the sun set (a better one every evening), whilst enjoying a glass of local wine (only EUR 2 per litre from the wine shop in the village!!!). We had a car at the recommendation of the owner, we did need this as the apartment is up a steep hill,but it is only a 2 minute drive down to the village of Parghelia and local beach. Tropea is about 5 or 6 mins away and it was really lovely there wondering around the narrow streets, taking in the culture and deciding which restaurant to eat in. We ventured into little villages by day,exploring the unspoilt area, stopping off at a roadside stall to stock up on wine and fresh produce in case we missed the village supermarket or wine shop.(Some close for siesta) Don't go here if you want Macdonalds, food chains, and English speaking. If you like an authentic holiday with good food,lovely beaches and scenery, then this is fantastic.

Relaxing break in an authentic corner of Italy

We were looking for a post-Christmas break and plummed for Marasusa. The views from the apartment out across the pretty coastal town towards the famous volcanic island of Stromboli are truly breathtaking and despite it being winter the weather was pleasant and bearable. The apartment complex was quiet, unsurprisingly for this time of year - although the standard of accommodation was excellent - we even had a DVD player and an assortment of films! As a base for exploring this outstanding location I couldn't recommend the apartment enough. You will need to hire a car however - unless you enjoy relatively lengthy walks. Don't worry though, we had no problems driving in the area and to truly explore the locale you really need transport in any case (during summer you may simply wish to stay around Tropea in which case local buses and shuttles would suffice).
