Thank you for your review. While we respect every guest’s experience, we would like to provide important clarification for future guests, as several statements are inaccurate or omit key context that is clearly outlined in the listing and our communications.
Location & Travel Times:
The property is not located in Mt. Pleasant, but rather in Sou Sou Land, just off Buccoo Road. At the time the listing was created, the address was recognized under Buccoo, which is a more widely known reference point and only a few minutes away. The listing also includes specific drive-time estimates to nearby beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, and the airport, allowing guests to make informed decisions prior to booking.
There are also walkable conveniences nearby, including local shops, food outlets, and everyday essentials. While the property is not marketed as being in an entertainment district, it is not isolated. Importantly, no local bars are advertised in the listing, and the area is not represented as a nightlife hub. As is common throughout Tobago, a rental car is recommended for maximum flexibility.
Directions & Property Identification:
In Tobago, it is common for homes not to have identifying lot numbers, particularly in residential communities. To ensure a smooth arrival, the guest was provided with:
* A Google Maps link
* A screenshot of the pinned location
* Real-time assistance via video call when they briefly took a wrong turn
We remained available until the guest arrived successfully.
Stairs & Mobility Disclosure
:
The apartment is located on the upper floor, and stair access is clearly disclosed and shown in the listing photos. Upon arrival, the guest expressed concern about navigating the stairs due to wearing a boot for a broken foot. She later advised that the injury occurred two weeks after booking and indicated she would try the stairs and let us know how it went. After entering the apartment, she confirmed that she liked the space and was able to manage the stairs.
Construction & Noise:
Minor construction occurred during part of the first day of the guest’s stay. Once concerns were raised, an agreement was made that no drilling would take place before 11:00 a.m. on the second day, after which the guest indicated she would be out. Unfortunately, heavy rain prevented her from leaving that day - something beyond our control, and she raised concerns again after remaining in the apartment. To eliminate any further disruption, all construction work was paused for the remainder of the stay, with the exception of a brief plumbing task being completed while the guest was at the beach on the final day.
Water Interruption:
The temporary water outage was due to a main-line issue affecting the surrounding area, not the property alone. Water trucks were paid for and dispatched to refill the tanks while service was being restored. While estimated arrival times were shared, the scheduling of the water company is not within our control. We followed up promptly once water service had been fully restored.
On the day of departure, the guest was at the beach while the plumber completed a brief repair. Water was turned off temporarily and restored shortly after her return, as the plumber had been advised of her schedule.
Maintenance Communication:
No issue with the kitchen sink was reported during the stay. We always encourage guests to report concerns immediately so they can be addressed in real time.
We are pleased that the guest acknowledged the apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious, well-stocked, and that the host was responsive. We take pride in accurate listings, clear communication, and proactive guest support, and we stand by the transparency and accuracy of our listing.
