A few notes:

There are steps up to the house from the street, and the home has three stories. This is an older home with lots of steps, which unfortunately makes access difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

The bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

The 2 full bathrooms (both with shower/tub combos) are on the 1st and 2nd floors.

The Music and Literature bedrooms have a door between them that can be locked from either side or can be open - great for families with children!

The Art Bedroom is open to the stairs, and guests staying in the Science Bedroom must pass through the Art Bedroom to go downstairs.

Ceilings in the 3rd floor bedrooms (Art and Science) are sloped, so please mind your head when navigating the space.

There is one motion-sensor flood light and camera located at the front entrance of the home. There is one security camera at the back door of the home.

Communication: Please message us if any assistance is needed during your stay.

Guest access: Guests will self check-in using a keypad on the front door.

Whether you're here to cheer on the Bengals, reconnect with family, or simply explore the city, Academy House offers a cozy, creative retreat you'll remember long after checkout.

Great home!

We brought 2 kids and 2 dogs, and it was perfect for us. Everyone had a king bed, and the home has all the amenities you could think of (and more!). It was a short drive to Over-the-Rhine. Super comfortable and amazing communication. Easy checkout as well. Thanks!

Cincinnati trip

We came to visit Cincinnati with two of our children and friends who plan to attend the University of Cincinnati next year. The location of the home, which is right around the corner from campus, was perfect. The home was spotless and stocked with everything we needed. The kids enjoyed the fire pit out back and everyone had a fabulous weekendWe definitely recommend this rental would definitely rent it again, if needed. The hosts were in touch with us the entire trip and we felt very safe in the area.

Womens Group

This property was awesome! The only time ever that I've stayed somewhere I didnt feel the need to clean things before I started unpacking. Everything was stocked beautifully and they go above and beyond providing extra amenities. Communication was immediate and parking was great for a group. The interior is so creative and beautiful and full of light that it made our stay extra special. And the backyard is perfect for a group gathering. Thanks so much for providing this special location for our team to stay!

About the host

Hosted by Sarah and Paul

Host profile image
Sarah is an Ohio native and former UC Bearcat who stayed in the Cincinnati area after college. Paul grew up in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan (we won't hold it against him!) and lived in Minneapolis before making his way to Cincinnati. We love traveling as a couple and with our kids. We have 3 adult kids (1 Bearcat!) and 2 high schoolers, and travel as a family just gets better and better!

Why they chose this property

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati's nursing program, and I love this city! This neighborhood is surprisly quiet and so close to everything in town. We love to try new restaurants when we stay at the house. There is always something fun going on in Cincinnati!

What makes this property unique

Paul and I renovated the home and did most of the work ourselves with the exception of the flooring an the new privacy fence in the backyard. We fell in love with the house, and we have kept as many original details intact as possible to keep that 1900 charm.

The backyard is a quiet oasis in the middle of the city! We love having our morning coffee in the adirondack chairs.
