I waited a few weeks after our stay before writing this review because I wanted to be fair, but I cannot in good conscience let this go without warning future guests. We stayed for a week and found the property dirty, poorly maintained, and in unacceptable condition. When we arrived, there was a strong urine smell coming from an upstairs rug. Bedroom curtains had been torn down and left in a closet, leaving no privacy. Multiple ceiling fans were broken, including one missing an entire blade. The hot tub smelled strongly of mildew, and there were clear signs of an active mouse problem in the kitchen, with droppings on counters, inside cabinets, under the stove, and on the floor. The floors and property overall were grimy and unkempt. We reported these issues to the host. Someone eventually removed the urine-soaked rug and rehung the curtains, but not until halfway through our week-long stay. The mouse droppings were not cleaned up, the fans were not repaired, and most of our concerns were never meaningfully addressed. We are experienced travelers and have rented in Gatlinburg many times. We did not expect luxury. We expected a clean, safe, functional place to sleep, store our belongings, and make breakfast for our kids. Unfortunately, this property did not meet even those basic expectations.
