Caddell Cabin at the Green Cocoon on Table Rock Lake
An authentic log cabin overlooking the Central Crossings Bridge on Table Rock Lake. Perched on a high bluff overlooking the White River, this cabin was built in 1934. Prior to the formation of Table Rock Lake, the logs were floated down the River and brought up the bluff. The fireplace rock came from the banks of the White River. I am proud to own this little part of Shell Knob history, and share it with my guests.
The Cabin has two newly remodeled bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with a full size bed; plus a queen size bed on a sleeping porch facing the lake. Full kitchen with dishes, cookware, small appliances and utensils. Coffee supplies provided, as well as linens and paper products.
This property offers direct access to the beautiful and clear waters of Table Rock Lake. There is a boat dock available for our guests pleasure that features a boat lift and also has a large swim deck attached for hours of fun in the sun. Free WiFi. Open Year Round.

So enjoyed my stay at this comfortable cabin! I mostly sat in the rocking chair on the back porch and just soaked in the nice weather and the slow pace…just what I wanted and needed. Got to drive around the area a bit, which was also great, finding places to watch the sunset and driving with the windows down. I feel really grateful that this place was available and that I found it. Thank you!

Totally recommend
This place was great. Loved the setting in the woods and having our own private dock. Love the character of the cabin. It's very old but well maintained and clean. The only challenge was that 2 kids had to sleep on the screened in porch (which they LOVED to start) but we got big storms at night and we had to squeeze them inside and it was tight. And, it didn't affect us because it was still cool in the eves, but there isn't AC on the porch so if it's July, heads up to future renters if they r counting on that bed. Could be pretty hot out there but it is the best room in the place! Would totally go back. Quiet, clean, yet rustic. The perfect getaway from the stress of life!

Inaccurate description of property
For the price we paid I feel we were over charged. For instance we got charged a fee nightly for maintenance and cleaning. No problem if maybe the bedsheets were fresh when we got there. Also the water to tub inside cabin was turned off. We were asked to exit cabin to water closet below cabin with a shower and no heat. Grill they provided hadn't been cleaned and burnt plastic all over the grill rack. Communication about the outside shower would have been nice. The dock they provide careful walking down there not exactly easy or safe
Overall very nice property. It is in the middle of a wooded area soI understand critters being in the cabin but finding spiders including brown recluse near the bed was a little unnerving. Only a couple. Internet is okay although if you plan to play any video games on tv or stream something might need to mess with the set up a bit or use a second device to bounce internet due to fireplace.
The cabin is rustic, but very nice. Everything was clean and the lakeside location was ideal. Only minutes into town and all the necessary amenities. I would definitely stay here again.
Clean and cozy ! Enjoyed our stay very much. Had it been a little warmer, we would have slept on the bed on the screened in porch. Had a fire in the fireplace both evenings, which we really enjoyed.
Great location on the lake. We loved this rustic cabin inside and out. Our favorite hangout spot was the back porch. The kitchen had everything we needed and the spaciousness was wonderful because we cooked a lot and the four of us had plenty of room.
Old property but kept up. Everything worked well. Had a big storm on Saturday night electricity went off of the whole town. Our host brought us flashlights and candles a few minutes later the power came back on. Very comfortable place. Boat dock with lift was convenient for us. Will stay here again.
We had a very relaxing stay with our family. Getting to sip coffee & watch the sun rise over the lake from the screened in porch was our favorite way to wake up. Our kids had a blast swimming and fishing off the dock.
My family and i enjoyed our stay in the cabin! My kids loved fishing off the boat dock, they was catching fish left and right! We are really looking forward to renting this cabin again soon!
We loved the location of the property. It is on a hill overlooking the lake and Shell Knob bridge. I was the perfect location to see the fireworks. The space of the cabin is great. It is furnished well. The screened in porch is a bonus. We were able to experience the outdoors and view the lake without the bugs. The hill down to the dock is a little steep like other reviews have said, but we didn't mind it. It was manageable and we did it in our flip flops. Once you get down to the dock it is a nice space to sit or lay out in the sun. There is a picnic table to eat at also. If you plan on doing any sort of backing you should bring your own dishes and utensils. Those are pretty sparse. There are skillets for stovetop cooking though. The two negatives we had were the beds. They desperately need an upgrade. The one in the biggest bedroom sags so bad in the middle that my husband and I kept rolling into the middle of the bed. The other thing that is needed is a clothesline or some place to hang your wet towels and swimsuits. Over all were we happy with the property and will stay again.
Looking for a quiet rustic cabin with a view this is the place! Located close enough for a quick store run this cabin is equipped with everything you'll need. The owner is very pleasant and quick to respond when needed. The view from the screened porch to the multi decks is something you just have to experience personally. We loved the shower room but it was still a bit too chilly during our stay to try and the tub inside the cabin was just fine. The trail to the dock was a bit steep and would not recommend tackling without proper shoes just to be safe. We did get to fish from the dock one day and had a great time.
Highly recommend as a great vacation getaway!

Neat Location
The cabin has a rustic charm and is between Eureka and Branson. It’s also not too far from Dogwood Canyon. My kids enjoyed fishing from the dock but the path to the dock is rough. The view is amazing and the sleep porch was charming as well as the fireplace. My only complaint was mouse droppings in the kitchen but I also know we picked a rustic cabin. The host is very friendly and lives just a few steps away. Overall we had a good time!
After reading reviews we thought it was a secluded spot (no neighbors in close proximity). That wasn't the case but it didn't matter as one side blocked by beautiful bamboo trees. Waking up to the sounds of the lake was wonderful! There is some traffic noise from the bridge that is in sight over the lake but it didn't really impact the stay other than to remind you that you're still in the middle of civilization. The cabin itself was perfectly cozy. We were looking for a place with a wood burning fireplace and this one was huge! We would love to come back!
We were looking for a safe place to get out of town for a couple days while still social distancing. This was a perfect choice. We woke up to a beautiful view of the lake, had a fire in the fireplace every night and just a short drive from some great hiking in the area. We will definitely consider coming back next year!

About the host

Thank You for taking time to check out my property. My name is Sharon Caddell; the proud owner of the Green Cocoon Lakefront Cabins located on Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob, Missouri. A native of Kansas City, I grew up coming to Table Rock Lake for family vacations and fell in love with the Ozarks. After 25+ years as Business Manager for a large architectural firm, I chose the quiet lifestyle of living, working and playing on Table Rock Lake. The best part of offering my cabins to guests, is sharing this special place with others.
Why they chose this property
Come fall in love with the rustic log cabin where history abounds. Our quaint neighborhood of High Dive was platted and established in the early 1930's as a cabin fishing retreat. Over the years, all the other log cabins burnt down. A little bit of history combined with access to Table Rock Lake makes this a fun spot to spend time ... rest, relax, and renew at the Green Cocoon.
What makes this property unique
The logs, the rocks, the bluffs, the outdoor shower, the stone fireplace, the guest boat dock, the screened-in porch with views of Table Rock Lake ... what's not to love about this place.
