We so enjoyed the trip. It was a perfect fit for us. The owners were so helpful. We had a trailer with two motorcycles and he helped us find somewhere to park the truck and trailer so we could just ride the motorcycles. It had everything you need for a great stay. The city is super nice and had lots of great places to eat. We will stay here again for certain.

The kitchen was great. We did miss having potholders and kitchen towels, but that certainly wasn't a deal breaker. We don't know about pet friendly.

Very clean, above garage apartment kitchen, dining table, small living room with large tv, and bedroom. Bedroom has a comfortable king size bed. Small bathroom is located in the kitchen. Location is close to several restaurants, stores, and a small park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Owner lives downstairs and was very helpful when needed.

The property was adorable. Very clean and neat. Had everything one could need. The owner stayed in touch throughout and was extremely accommodating. Property is writing walking distance to restaurants and the city park. I couldn't have had a better stay.

The apartment is just the right size for 2 people to be comfortable. It was clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. It's close to downtown shops and restaurants. The television was set up with Pluto TV so we watched reruns of favorite shows. There is a parking bay underneath the apartment and was to me one of the best features. Although a little cozy for anything up to the size of a minivan, my Buick Envision fit perfectly. The only part that I really wasn't comfortable with were the stairs from the parking bay to the apartment. I have a physical challenge and I walk with a cane. The stairs weren't the problem, but the handrail being a 2x4 was hard to grip. Just made me feel a little unsecured. All in all it was a comfortable place and a good trip.

This is my first time staying in The Carriage House, which is a clean, well-appointed apartment above the garage of a lovely historic house within easy walking distance to restaurants, Boom Day attractions, and city parks in downtown Fort Payne. The apartment itself is a fabulous alternative to a hotel with a full size kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room, and large bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and I felt completely comfortable at all times as a woman travelling alone. One parking spot is available underneath the deck of the apartment and although very convenient, it is a tight squeeze for a larger SUV but additional parking is available in front of the main house. The apartment is accessed by a flight of stairs from the parking spot which could benefit from additional lighting at night. The hammock and picnic table on the deck are a wonderful addition to the space. The owners thought of everything a guest might need and even compiled a booklet highlighting the area's history and recreational activities, including hiking trails in nearby Desoto State Park (which I highly recommend, as well as Little River Canyon.) Although I didn't meet or speak with the owners, their attention to detail and quick responses to email assured me that I was in good hands. I will definitely stay here again & highly recommend The Carriage House to anyone lucky enough to be visiting Fort Payne and this beautiful part of the AL.
