We loved our little winter weekend getaway. The studio was so cute, well appointed and cozy. We loved the amazing views and the owner’s focus on sustainability. 100% would stay here again.
We had a wonderful time staying at this studio! The semi-remote location was perfect for a relaxing getaway, offering both privacy and incredible views. The space was incredibly comfortable, and we especially appreciated the eco-friendly touches, like the limestone wash walls with no VOCs—such a thoughtful detail.
The location is ideal—just a short drive to downtown Hailey and Ketchum, where we found everything we needed. For those visiting in winter, I’d highly recommend having a 4x4 truck or SUV to navigate the terrain.
We will definitely be back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Gavin McClurg
We are a family of three. I (Gavin) have sailed around the world twice, was a national "Adventurer of the Year" in 2015 for a paragliding traverse of the Canadian Rockies and have competed in the Red Bull X-Alps (the "toughest adventure race on earth" 4 times. My wife Mattie is an Idaho native from Pocatello and our daughter Fallon (7) loves skiing with Dad, acting, gymnastics, and cooking. I built this home in 2022/23 to be as earth-friendly as possible. It has a living roof on the main house, is 100% powered by the sun, all interior and exterior is plaster and the walls are built with faswall blocks made from recycled pallets. They are 12" thick and 100% fireproof and will last hundreds of years!
Why they chose this property
Indian Creek is magical. It's only 5 minutes from the town of Hailey, 15 minutes from the slopes in Ketchum, but it feels really remote. We are situated on 5 private acres up on a hill so the views are amazing, the stargazing is other-worldly, and you can expect to see a lot of wildlife- from hummingbirds to cougars, everything is out here (wolves, bobcats, elk, moose, deer and more!). The quiet will blow you away. It's about as peaceful as it gets.
What makes this property unique
Very very few homes are built like ours is. There are no toxic chemicals in the build. Lime plaster interior and exterior, fireproof walls made from recycled pallets, a fully living roof that provides habitat for critters as well as a ton of natural insulation. The house is 100% powered by the sun (we have 18 KW of solar on the garage roof and studio roof). Every build decision (by the owner Gavin) was made with the Earth in mind. We plan to live here forever and think you will enjoy it!
