The Cowboy Hat House, or "Hat House" as locals refer to it, is a one-of-a-kind, marvelous, 2-bedroom Huntsville getaway! Two queen bedrooms, living room, bathroom, game room, laundry room, and kitchen with all the essential amenities, this unique house is perfect for guests looking for a cool getaway.

Built by world renowned artist/builder Dan Phillips, and featured in Texas Highways, Texas Monthly, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Good Morning America, CNN and a multitude of other Texas, national, and international books, publications and tv shows!
Just a 1/2 mile off the I-45 and close to downtown, Huntsville's Cultural District, and Sam Houston State University!

Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Lock the doors
Please simply tidy up, gather used towels and place by washing machine, do dishes, gather and take out the trash and we'll do the rest!
Be sure to grab your cell phone chargers, stray socks, curling iron, etc., as well as food items. Feel free to leave any unopened beverages you don't want for the next guests!
Finally, please be sure to sign the guestbook, like us on Instagram, tell your friends, come again, and, most importantly, safe travels home!

The Cowboy Hat House was quirky and kitschy in the very best way! The decor was extraordinarily well-thought out and executed, and the amenities were practically everything you would have at home, to include items for children.

The house was amazing. We all loved it and had a great weekend. It is very close to everything and the hosts are very thoughtful and attentive. I definitely recommend this house and I hope to return again.

Rocky Raccoon 100

The cowboy hat house was a perfect selection for me as I was running the Rocky Rqccoon 100 mile endurance run. It was just 15 minutes from Huntsville State Park. Every detail of this property is exceptionally thought out. The beds were incredibly comfortable.

Everything and More

I am not a boring Hilton mom. I love to immerse my family into the culture and local fokelore of our destinations. My children are all adults and we have stayed at some doozeies, but every now and then we find a hidden Gem. The Hat House is definitely just that. The fact that it is shaped like a hat barely touches the magic of this place. If a house that lived in my mind could come to fruition, this would be it. Every little thing, from the cowboy cat rug in the bathroom to the ruler box tucked into in the entry way. There was so much to look at and explore in such a small space, but we never felt like we were croweded. The bedrooms each had their own theme and the game room was an added bonus we didn't expect, but were grateful for on a rainy evening. The upstairs patio was genius and would have been fun to utilize for morning coffe, if not for the rain. We will definitely be back to The Hat House for future stays.
