The place is beautiful and as advertised however the hot water was not great. Cold showers for our stay was not ideal. The host sent a passcode to check in and then when we arrived we found out that we had to go to the office but only after a large language barrier. This would have been so much better had the host been clear about check in instructions and transparent about the hot water situation.

Hello Rachelle, Sorry to hear about your inconvenience. I just would like to point out that in your confirmation email that you received from us it states clearly that check in has to be done at our reception. The code you think you received was the location of reception (just behind this particular house). The issue you had with the hotwater had nothing to do with the hotwater but with electricity. A mile further along the road a tree fell and some cables where busted. Costarican electricity company works 24/7 and always fixes outagages as soon as they can. The hotwater in our houses work on waterheaters so if there is no electricity , there is also no hotwater. but yes things like this, although not very often, do happen in our beautiful rainforest. Thank you for your stay!
