We've vacationed in Michigan for over 20 years and have stayed in many rentals. Unfortunately, this was our least enjoyable experience, although the Lake Michigan views, patio, and location near Grand Haven were excellent. The home had not been cleaned when we arrived. The management company refunded our cleaning fee and offered to send cleaners, which we appreciated, but it wasn't convenient after we had already unpacked. The home is an older A-frame, but it needs maintenance and better upkeep. You enter directly into a bedroom instead of an entryway. There are very few electrical outlets, so bring power strips if you have multiple devices. The kitchen was missing basic items like a cookie sheet or pizza pan, and there were no instructions for features like the A/C controls (located in the bathroom) or the garbage disposal switch (under the sink). The listing mentions 25 steps to the beach, but you'll also need to navigate a steep sand hill before reaching the shoreline. Our biggest concern was finding mouse droppings on the kitchen counter as we were packing to leave. We reported this to management. The setting is beautiful, but the home needs cleaning, maintenance, and updates to match the price and listing expectations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful Lake Michigan views, outdoor patio, and convenient location near Grand Haven. We sincerely apologize that there were some cleaning issues when you arrived. We refunded your cleaning fee and offered to send our housekeeping team immediately. Feedback like yours helps us identify opportunities to improve the guest experience, including providing clearer operating instructions for the home's features and evaluating kitchen inventory. The home is on quarterly pest control; so we have notified the pest control company to let them know of the increased activity. We value all guest feedback and are committed to continually improving our homes and the experience we provide

The location could not be better! Gorgeous views and a perfect spot to watch sunsets every night. Great beach access and the dunes to hike up behind the house! Even in the middle of a heat wave, we were able to keep the place comfortable. Great living space and a cozy nook to watch tv.The only downside was that the place was not clean when we arrived. Spider webs in most corners, dead bugs on the floors, and the kitchen appliances had a greasy film. The loft bedroom was cooked by an open vented space, which was lovely. However, it was very dirty and dust was blown in all over the beds.Overall, it was a beautiful space to relax and play by the lake.
