About this property

Historic canal-side apartment in Central Amsterdam

Two bedrooms, each with its own full-bathroom, Amsterdam canal apartment in a historic monument building dating back to the 1500's, enjoying breathtaking views over one of Amsterdam's oldest and most beautiful canals. The apartment is in Amsterdam's coolest, most interesting and vibrant neighbourhood and combines historic architecture and inspired design.

----

Welcome to my Amsterdam apartment, in the heart of the historic city centre beside the beautiful Singel canal with a unique blend of historical character and modern style.

As you arrive at the small stone staircase at the front of the building you will immediately sense the apartment's unique atmosphere. The journey to the apartment's entrance on the second floor is an adventure in itself; with a narrow wooden spiral staircase dating back to the 1500's leading the way.

Reaching the second floor, you'll find yourself in a loft-like haven. This living area boasts a beamed ceiling, surrounded with huge windows, and a bright and centrally located kitchen. From every corner of this space you have a view of the picturesque canal and all it's daily comings and goings.

Four expansive windows at the front provide uninterrupted and breathtaking views of the scenic Singel canal. The kitchen is culinary heaven with everything at your finger tips and should the surrounding restaurants not tempt you, then you don't have an excuse not to cook up a storm.

A steel spiral staircase leads to a small landing on the second floor. Here you will find the two private and spacious bedrooms, each with their own en suite. These rooms, nestled within the eaves of the roof, exude character with high ceilings, original wooden beams, and loft spaces above accessible via wooden staircases. These two study/workspaces seamlessly integrate into the bedroom areas, providing a perfect environment for focusing on your work or even a spot of yoga or pilates.

Throughout this floor, the double-glazed windows ensure a peaceful and comfortable living environment.

Footsteps from the vibrant "De 9 Straatjes", a lively neighbourhood known for its buzzing bars and restaurants, typical Dutch cafes, unique galleries, quaint shops and hip boutiques, where you can discover the rich heritage and hidden gems of Amsterdam during the day and then enjoy entertainment at night in the cabaret and jazz clubs, theatres and world class restaurants. Public transport options are easily accessible, and the A-10 ring road is within convenient reach.

Please note that parking in this central location is subject to paid permits, as detailed by the municipality of Amsterdam.
Guest access
As guests you'll enjoy exclusive access to the entire apartment during your stay. If charming canals and historic, lively neighbourhoods are your thing, then my apartment is your thing too. From the moment you arrive you'll have the freedom to make this cool Amsterdam apartment your Dutch living experience. Whether you're looking for relaxation, inspiration, great food, lively bars, art, history, culture or just a cosy place to work, this stunning apartment reflects everything that is Amsterdam.

So settle in, make yourself at home, and enjoy the historic charm and modern comforts that this listing offers - and importantly, make every moment count so that you'll leave this wonderful city with a treasure of memories and an appreciation of Amsterdam's history, culture and culinary delights.

Great Unit in a Great Location

We met friends in Amsterdam for a week and stayed here. The host was incredibly responsive to our questions and helped accommodate an early check-in. The unit was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable for our group. The location was incredibly convenient for all our activities throughout the week and would definitely stay here again.
