About this property
ZEN DEN - Japandi Tiny Home in the Heart of Atlanta
Set in the heart of Atlanta you'll find this Japandi style tiny home tucked away and out of site, within one of Atlanta's most sought after neighborhoods, Morningside. This home was influenced by the tea houses of Japan and the modern homes of Scandanavia. Japandi style is influenced by the ancient Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi based on simplicity, the beauty of imperfections, and our natural world combined with the Scandinavian practice of Hygge which embraces coziness and togetherness.
Yes, this is technically a tiny home, but the interior feels open and spacious due to the high ceilings and well thought out design. The home is perfect for two people who are comfortable with climbing a ships ladder (an almost vertical stair), with a narrow opening, and lounging on furniture low to the ground in line with the Japanese way of life. Please take this into consideration when booking.
The bathroom is surprisingly large with an open concept shower. The windows let in plenty of light and allow you to feel at one with the bamboo, trees and plants around you. The tiny home is in my backyard, however, you will have complete privacy. No one will access the backyard but you, and even though you will see my home I will not see you. All of my shades are drawn. No one will have access to that space. The home is all yours! You have complete access to the home, driveway, yard, hot tub and fire-pit. This is in the middle of the city, and may be a little oasis, but it is not off the beaten path. There is easy access to almost everything. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, Piedmont Park etc. are all within walking distance. However, even though its location is in the middle of the city, it is very quiet.
Take time to soak and unwind in the hot tub. Turn on the LED lights, play some music and let your stress melt away. After bouncing around the streets of Atlanta and overcoming the traffic hurdles, relax and unwind in this beautiful escape. We hope the space allows you to find your zen and your ikigai.
The Zen Den is a new build. Carefully designed and crafted. I live in the main house and can quickly help with any issues or questions you might have. If you have any special requests just reach out. I’m sure I can make it happen. Hope to have you soon!
