Firefly Cottage - Lakefront Cottage with Huge Dock on Quiet Cove

Get away from it all at Firefly Cottage, a charming three bedroom, two bath lake front cottage. Located in a gated, lakeside community only 7 miles from the historic downtown Granbury square, this cottage and its charming decor are sure to help you create treasured memories with family and friends.

Nestled under a canopy of trees on a quiet cul-de-sac, Firefly Cottage offers beautiful, serene views of the water and stunning sunsets. My cottage is located on a quiet private cove just off the main body of Lake Granbury. The property boasts a large, partially covered boat dock that will easily accommodate the whole family. There is a fenced yard with plenty of space to run around, which is ideal for our guests that like to include their furry family members. Up to two dogs are welcome with the completed pet addendum and $50 non-refundable pet fee.

In addition to a rope swing, which is a great way to launch into the refreshing waters of the lake, there is also a paddle boat which our guests can use to explore and fish the private cove. Launch your boat or jet skis for free at the community marina. Our dock has a strap style boat lift for guests that bring their own boat and a separate lift, which holds our paddle boat or can accommodate 2 jet skis.

Relax on the porch or covered boat dock while fishing and listen to the soothing sounds of nature. There is a variety of wildlife, including hummingbirds, ducks, geese, cormorants, & great blue herons. In mid to late February, each year, we have pelicans that visit our cove before they proceed on their migration North, making it one of my favorite times of the year.

Rain or shine, you can still enjoy the outdoors under the covered wrap-around porch, which is home to a hand-crafted family style table that seats up to ten. While you hang out or grill your dinner on the porch, enjoy a game of bags (corn hole), giant Jenga, or Connect Four. In the evenings, gather chairs around the firepit and roast marshmallows for smores and enjoy the star filled skies.

Firefly Cottage has three bedrooms:
1) The Sportsman Master bedroom houses a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom.
2) The Kid's Room is located next to the Sportsman & has a queen-size bed and a mini-crib.
3) The Lake View, features a king-size bed, ensuite bathroom and has a bay window that look out over the lake.

There is a lovely window lined sunroom with a dining table for up to 8.
The French doors give views of the lake, patio and dock. There is also a small sofa for additional comfy seating. This is the perfect place to enjoy some family game nights as well. We have a good selection of family friendly games and puzzles to enjoy.

The living room has a full-size pull-out sleeper sofa that will accommodate sleeping for two. There are additional fresh linens in the closet in the living room, and towels, toilet paper, and hair dryers are provided in each bathroom. My kitchen is fully stocked with dishware, silverware, cooking/baking supplies, spices, and about every appliance you can think of. Amenities also include a washer, dryer, iron & ironing board.

Firefly Cottage offers high-speed wireless internet. This makes us a great option for folks who are interested in “staycationing”. If you’re going to work from home, why not do it from the lake?! For your indoor entertainment we provide streaming services (Netflix, Hulu+, Disney+ & ESPN+) for the 4 televisions. Local channels can be viewed on Hulu.

The Firefly Cottage is privately hosted, and available year-round. We allow guests to book out dates up to a year in advance so it’s the perfect choice for: spring break, fishing trips, family vacations, romantic getaways (we had a wonderful couple get engaged on our dock in January of 2023), relaxing long weekends, girls trips, Memorial Day, summer vacation, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (we decorate for the holidays), New Years and more! We require a 2 night minimum stay during most of the year, 3 night minimum stay during the high season and certain holidays.
