About this place
Instant hot water showers. Starlink WiFi is free.
I live right next door so I can help with anything our guests may need. I work at the Tonga Water Board but my wife is home with our 5 year old son most of the time so she can answer questions about anything!. Rae also does excellent tours around Tongatapu, half or full day at very reasonable prices. Half day US$50 per person etc etc
We have a dog named Maxi which can be a bit noisy sometimes.
The neighborhood is safe, close to town and quiet except for noisy chickens, dogs, church bells and birds.
Sometimes a noisy kava grinding machine next door.
The Cabin is a small three bedroom house strictly for guests use.
There are 3 bedrooms in total available for rent with shared amenities like bathroom, kitchen, TV room. Fans are available but no aircondition which people find acceptable.
NB: Please clean up after yourself in the kitchens and bathrooms while respecting other guests personal space etc
One bedroom has a double bed which can accommodate a couple or an adult and 1 child. Extra charges apply.
Guest access
Trampoline outside (removed now) can be used as well as a small table. My watts app number for Tonga 7200 426 and can be reached on here.
Bicycles can be borrowed.
Kayaks available (3X) for Hire, T$60 a day. People normally kayak to Pangaimotu Island where there is a T$10 paanga landing fee per person.
Surfboard for Hire (X3), T$20 a day.
During your stay
Always available for advice and help 24/7.
We can make an umu (traditional cooking method in an underground oven) for guests so they can see how it's made. They get to eat it afterwards, at a fair price (ingredient costs plus firewood cost) provided Rae is keen to do it! She's always keen if you can help :-)
Rae does tours of the island stopping at places of interest, US$83 per person for a whole day tour, also half island tours at US$50 per person.
Other things to note
Guests can use the two washing lines outside to hang their washing.

It is an easy 15 minutes walk to the Nuku'alofa CBD.
You are most Welcome to come with us to church on Sundays and five minutes drive away you can attend the church our King Tupou VI goes to every Sunday when he is in the country. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay in this little cabin though found that despite the advertising writeup beforehand, that we arrived to share the premises with a couple we didn't know - but this changed over the next few days. In the second week we found that despite the host's assurances that we had the cabin to ourselves for the rest of our stay, another couple of travellers arrived on the eve of our leaving. Needless to say we all got on well, and it was lovely to meet 4 new different travellers, but this was a situation (2x) we weren't expecting - plus in the second week a high school student from the family came to share too. All facilities were adequate (though our of our bed legs broke on the second night!!) but all fixed up the next day. Lovely to have fridge, microwave, clothes washer/clothes line all included. Very friendly hosts who went out of their way with hospitality. Shops were just around the corner, with maybe a further 20 minute walk into town. Very handy location for touring around. I'd go back again (despite the dogs and roosters through the night...) and also recommend for someone who loves staying close to Tongan everyday life.
